Overall delicious but needs a few tweaks! Theyāre clearly listening to customers because I got a hefty Saigonese sandwich that left me stuffed. Also, the bread didnāt appear to be the same from the photos in the last review; however the bread in the past review looks more authentic than the French baguette I received (a Vietnamese baguette is lighter, less chewy, and will create a Nature Valley bar crumb avalanche when you bite into it). That said, I understand needing to cater to⦠a different audience in this part of town. Proportions could be worked on: my banh mi was too heavy on the mayo, which may have been offset if it was packed to the brim w/pickled carrots and daikon. These were well done, just lacking. And, as with all herby Viet cuisine, it should be loaded with cilantro (maybe just inconsistent, based on other pics). Would prefer the traditional āBBQā red pork instead of the roasted pork roll to add a tinge of sweetness, but at the very least Iād slice the pork roll thinner because it was on the drier side. Hard to taste any pate but the Maggi sauce came through nicely.
Nit-picky review, I know, but Iām Vietnamese so I take my banh mi seriously! That said, I canāt emphasize enough that they hit the spot and are very, very tasty. Excited to try other items.
Iām a little lost on the spirit of the menu - I think it should either be more traditional or a play on some twists to classic Viet food, but itās exactly half Vietnamese and half American. Looking forward to an expanded menu (maybe add summer rolls? flan? coconut tapioca pudding? pho dip sandwiches?)! And Cafe du Monde should be the only...

I recently visited Sesame Sandwiches for a Vietnamese-inspired lunch, and it turned out to be a rollercoaster of an experience. My partner had been before and wasnāt impressed, but we decided to give it another shotāand Iām glad we did!
On Sunday (3/2, around 12:30 PM), the young gentleman working was fantasticāfriendly, attentive, and clearly skilled at his craft. He made an outstanding Saigon Banh Mi, balancing the flavors of meats and vegetables perfectly. It had the right mix of crunch, moisture, and richness that made it truly memorable. We were so impressed that we came back the next day for round two.
Unfortunately, Monday (3/3) was a letdown. The sandwich lacked the balance and finesse of the day beforeātoo much pĆ¢tĆ©, not enough of the other meats and veggies, and overall, a messier, less satisfying experience. While the service remained friendly and timely, the inconsistency in food quality was disappointing.
As a local, I wanted to share this review in the hopes that consistency is prioritizedābecause it can make or break a small business. If customers canāt rely on the quality being the same from one visit to the next, they might choose to go elsewhere or only come when a specific person is working. Sesame Sandwiches has potential, but ensuring every sandwich meets the same high standard is key to keeping customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGive your money to this local business. One of the best Bahn Miās close to Metropolitan Denver. Iād say the star is the Vietnamese Iced Coffee - reasonably priced, smooth, and not too sweet with just enough kick. Outdoor seating is perfect for parties of two (though I imagine you could combine tables to accommodate more). Location was charming with ample parking and other small businesses to peruse (Sun Market). Service was caring and delightful. Thank you to the two gentleman who cooked and delivered our meals, respectively. The classic Bahn Mi was surprisingly delicious and we ate the leftovers later*. Earlier reviews about the bread were true - great quality.
My only criticism is when you bit into the Bahn Mi, vegetables were on one side of the sandwich and meat on the other, resulting in an uneven bite. This is a feasibly fixable critique of the sandwich, but overall, we tasted noticeably fresh ingredients and appreciated the attention in...
