I always get bad service by a mexican girl with braces, she always turns my smotherd burritos upside down when putting them in the bag, and then she says opps sorry, as if she doesnt know how to do it, then she told me no ones taught her how to pack the food. Tamales by la casita makes great shredded beef burritos, and their chili is great, however they dont have an option of hot or mild for diabetics or people with medical conditions. I like that they do not put a ton of salt. But I dont taste any pork in the tamales, they are mostly red chili and the British cheddar cheese in the green chili tamales stuck to my teeth. La castita tamales are good, but they like other Mexican restaurants are still using British cheddar cheese, and any Mexican restaurants serving British cheddar cheese are still considared American Mexican restaurants, including the mexican arab restaurants. But to most Native asian indians of Mexico and United States, using British cheddar cheese is an insult, because when the Spanish and British took indians and Africans as slaves or locked indians on resurvations in Mexico and United States, they gave them flour, surger lard and some got British cheddar cheese to remind indians that they were conquered and taken into slavery by the Spanish and British, when the Spanish still owned parts of the United States. African American slaves used British cheddar cheese given to them on their Grits. This is why its important for Mexican restaurants to use real Mexican sheep or cow white cheeses, or if your from southern colorado we use goat cheese, because it also shows people, that although we were conquered by the Spanish and British, we refuse to keep their memory alive as well as their traditions, and we will not honor the British by using their cheeses. No restaurants should support slavery in no way...
Read moreUpdated review: the service here has become incredibly poor, we stand by everything we’ve said about the food, but the service today was abysmal. We ordered juevos rancheros and enchiladas (no cheese for the lactose intolerant husband) and two burritos to go. After waiting over half an hour the enchiladas come out with cheese and the burritos aren’t to go. When I remind the girl the burritos are to go she tosses my tortilla on the table and walks away.
While we were waiting they asked us to clarify which items were for here and which were to go- so we had gone over it twice with two separate people. While we were waiting no one (outside of clarifying the to go food) spoke to us, or let us know why everyone who ordered after us had received food and left. When we asked about our food the girl became upset with us for asking, which seems weird as it had been 25 minutes when we asked. After waiting this long, and having the servers be so rude we decided not to send the incorrect order back- I went ahead and grabbed lactaid from the car but if you are lactose intolerant you know he will still hurt later. I was really shocked by this; I think from now on we will be sticking to tamales to go and grabbing our breakfast elsewhere.
Born and raised in New Mexico we’ve now been living in Denver 13 years. This is the absolute best New Mexican food we’ve found in the state of Colorado. Tastes like home, excellent red and green chile, tamales are moist and meaty- not too much masa. They do put meat in the green chile- I prefer just roasted green chile. Originally this was a five star review- food is...
Read moreFor a small family business that prides their self on being a good restaurant, the customer service is HORRIBLE. I drove all the way from the DTC, which is about 40 minutes away, to pick up tamales on December 23rd. Prior to Heading to the restaurant I contacted the phone number to see if I could either put my order in or find out if they still had tamales. There was just an automated message that you couldn’t leave a voicemail and there was no indication whether or not that they were sold out. Upon driving to the restaurant, I noticed there was a Sign on the front door that said sold out of tamales, to try back tomorrow, which was Christmas Eve. I went inside and I had asked if they were able to make some and I would wait for them, but they indicated no and that I would have to return back tomorrow, but it was first come first serve. The least thing they Could’ve done was update their Facebook page or perhaps even having it updated on their website since they don’t want to answer the phone, this way people aren’t driving all the way across town knowing this is one of the places to get tamales for Christmas. I’ve grown up in North Denver my entire life and to see that they don’t take the initiative to keep the long lasting customers they have, doesn’t sit well. I ended up going to Ponchito’s tortilla factory right up the street and was able to get a few dozen that were just as good, if not better. My business will now go to them since La Casita lacks - Consistency, Customer Service & Consideration. Eventually, the word will spread, and people will no longer buy their...
