I know their burgers are top notch from past visits (and LOTS of options), but had the mac and cheese with Cheetos this time. Very tasty. Also, ask for their special in-house hot sauce they have behind the counter. I wish they had more West Coast IPA's, as they don't have much, but that is my preference, so wouldn't demote it on that item alone of course. I was there on a Sunday when it was busy for football (and yes, they have the Ticket for all games), and Sean gave me perfect service. One of the owners, Chris, happened to be around and was extremely nice also. If looking for a low-key place with great food and an energetic atmosphere, this would be a good choice.
MOST RECENT VISIT: We visited for a Restaurant Week late lunch. We really enjoyed our visit, and Dan gave us great service behind the bar. Their bar area is spacious and comfortable. Lots of TV's, good background music. The overall staff seems to be seamless in efficiency and teamwork, and we always get good service here. I had the patty melt, and it was cheesy and excellent. They do the non-1000 Island version, but it was solid. Fries were perfectly crispy. Wife had the Black and Bleu and she liked mine better, although both were good. My thing is to get wing sauce for my fries, but you do you. They were out of the brownie. The cheesecake was decent, but we are not cheesecake people. Great presentation though for it. We hit a non-sports time of day, but I have been here for football, and it is fun. I wish there was an app for the Restaurant Week menu, or something off the menu, but we still enjoyed, and they include a soft drink or beer with it. Overall, definitely recommend and...
Read moreMy family had dinner at this restaurant last night. The hostess stated that it would take 25-30 minutes to be seated. We were pleasantly surprised when we got a table within 10 minutes. About 10 minutes later, the server came by to take our order. In addition to 4 different burger orders, we orders the cheese curd appetizer.
The server didn’t stop by our table to check on us or update us about our order for at least 30 minutes. During that time, she was busy but since she stopped at the tables right next to us multiple times, it would have only taken a moment to turn around and notice we still hadn’t received our appetizer. We waited 55 minutes before receiving our appetizer. The server said it took la long time because the food was delivered to the wrong table. That might be true but could have been resolved sooner if the server checked on us a bit more often. The rest of the food came out right away, defeating the purpose of an appetizer. We could maybe understand this if the restaurant was completely full but at least 25% of it was empty. We wouldn’t want to see what it is like when the restaurant is full. I cannot imagine the kitchen could keep up with that kind of night.
Most food itself was amazing. The cheese curds weren’t advertised as fried, so that was a surprise. They were tasty but a bit doughy. For entrees, we ordered 1 smashburger, 2 Shroom luvas, and one bean burger. We loved our entrees. The sides & dips were also great (fries, onion rings, Colorado greens).
The server did give us extra cheese curds & comped that cost. It was a great gesture but I am still not sure if we would return based on the service &...
Read moreThe quality of the food and service is actually quite decent. My problem with the establishment is with the dishonest way they charge an additional 20% service fee that only passively notifies the customer on the menu (which no one in their right mind would look for). They use it to justify better wages for their staff, but it would be more honest then to have that reflected in the price of their food rather than in a "hidden" fee tallied to the check. If it weren't for the friendliness of the server and the quality of food, I would have given this place one star for their dishonesty. Regardless, I won't be returning here again.
in response to the owner's reply
You're being disingenuous. I've already acknowledged in my review that you've passively "informed" us on the menu about the extra fee. Such a notice should have been as blatant as the warning label on cigarettes, but unfortunately, the notice you have provided in no way stands out from surrounding writing on the menu. The fact that you have it discreetly sandwiched within a section that no one would bother to read doesn't it make it any less hidden. After all, the phrase, "hidden in plain sight" exists for a reason. No doubt you are fully aware that this policy is a deviation from the standard operation of a restaurant and that no one is going to bother actively looking for such information before ordering. At the very least, you should have a sign in boldface print notifying the customer of this unusual policy on the table apart from the menu. Though, the most honest policy would be to price your food so that it accurately reflects the final cost to...
