Let me first start off by saying that I have ordered from this restaurant (at this location) for years and have never had an issue. But the last several times we have ordered from them, they have messed up at least one item of our order. This review covers only our recent experiences of ordering through Postmates, although we dined in one time about a year and a half ago and the food was good. On May 5, we ordered delivery. We ordered the Thai Egg Rolls, the Drunken Noodles, and the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was the only portion of the order that was correct. The Thai egg rolls are described on Postmates' menu as "Four pieces. Fried. Chicken, cabbage, carrot, onion, and bean noodles." What we received were 2 pieces of what appeared to be spring rolls. No chicken, carrot, or onion in sight. Worse than this complete bungling of a simple appetizer was my drunken noodle dinner. I am allergic to tomatoes and bell peppers, and clearly stated this in the special instructions. I received a container of drunken noodles containing literally a pile (I pulled them all out and took a photo) of the exact vegetables I could not eat, rendering my meal completely inedible. This is completely inexcusable, considering that I explicitly stated I was allergic, not that this was a preference. When we called the restaurant on this date, they put us on hold for over 20 minutes, forcing us to call back again, and then stated they would call us back. After an hour, they never called, so we called again. When we finally got ahold of the owner, she refused to apologize for almost causing me to have an allergic reaction. And her excuse for the screwed up egg rolls? They do have chicken in them, just not a lot, and they are supposed to come in an order of 3 (which still doesn't explain why we got 2 pieces). When I said, okay, but your Postmates menu says 4 pieces, she blamed it on Postmates, saying they must not have copied over their menu correctly. Now, we liked their food in the past, so we decided to try again a few weeks later. We both ordered Pad Thai, one a Mild-2 with tofu and one a Medium-3 with chicken. The food came as prepared (relatively) although they were both rather bland and I don't believe my pad Thai was a 3. Today was the kicker. Since the food last time was mostly okay, we decided to order the same exact thing -- Pad Thai, Mild-2, Tofu, and Pad Thai, Medium-3, Chicken. The food came hot and on time, but that's about it. The containers hadn't been sealed properly, so the greasy juices from the pad thai dishes were dripping all over the inside of the bag. When we tasted the food, it was WAY too spicy (keep in mind, this is the exact same location that made our food bland last time). We called the restaurant again, and spoke to the owner. Again, she offered absolutely no apologies and instead tried to make more excuses about how "Mild-2 is still spicy". When we pointed out to her that that doesn't make any sense, that something labeled "mild" intrinsically cannot be spicy, she repeated herself and started yelling at us on the phone. We told her that this is the 3rd time in a row we've had disappointing food and service from them, and asked her to remake the food and re-deliver it to our home. She refused, and said, "well you can come and get it." When we protested this, stating that we shouldn't have to drive all the way there to pick up re-made food because they couldn't make it correctly the first time, she simply said, "oh well, I gave you an option." She ended this conversation by interrupting us and pushing us off the phone, shouting "alright alright I get it!" This is the last time this place will get our money. Their food, when it is good, is good. But their quality is so ridiculously inconsistent, their spice levels nonsensical, and their customer service nonexistent. There are plenty of other Thai places in Denver who will be happy to take your money and make your food correctly with a smile. This is not one of them.

This place is a staple of Denver for Thai food. Even in the pandemic you could see Door Dash, Postmates, Uber Eats orders lined up on tables to be picked up. I live in Houston, and every time I visit Denver I make it a point to stop here for a meal. It’s consistently good. We ordered the Monkey Mix that had a good mix of all the appetizers available including crab rangoon, spring rolls, and Thai egg rolls. Everything was perfectly crispy with flavorful sauces to accompany the appetizer. We also ordered the 24 oz. tom kha with chicken. There are a lot of veggies in this and they could be cut smaller. The coconut soup is rich and maybe a little sweeter than some other places, but completely addicting. The food comes out really quickly here and you can tell it’s a family-owned restaurant. This is the kind of place that leaves you alone to enjoy your food in peace. They’ll refill your water, drinks, and check on you but you’re allowed to listen to the Thai music playing and savor the food. There’s also a clean, gender neutral, and ADA accesible bathroom.

I was recently introduced to Thai Monkey and it has quickly become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in town. My go to dish is the pad thai (rice noodles with egg, green onion, cabbage, carrot, peanut, bean sprouts, & choice of protein - which I normally get chicken or shrimp). I've also tried the see ew noodles (wide rice noodles with egg, Chinese broccoli, broccoli, & choice of protein), the spring rolls (rice paper, sprout, iceberg lettuce, carrots, mint, & shrimp), and the steamed dumplings (chicken, carrot, chestnut, onion, & cilantro). Everything I've ever ordered from here is delicious and comes in a large portion. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in search of great Thai food that won't break the bank. Looking forward to eating here more often soon!

My "friend" and I recently ordered takeout. I got the Massamun curry and my "friend" got the Pumpkin curry. I can't speak on the quality of the Pumpkin curry because my "friend" wouldn't give me a bite, however the Massamun curry was incredible.

I ordered my Massamun with a spiciness level of medium, and although the dish was spicier than I expected, I grew to enjoy the intense heat amidst the rich and complex flavor profile of the curry. Somehow the chef at Thai Monkey Club manages to thread in hints of sweetness among the woven tapestry of savory flavors in this onion heavy dish. Friends, I am not kidding when I say that tasted exquisite art on Saturday night.

When the spiciness became nearly too much to tolerate, a sip of their Thai Tea (which was included with our particular order at no additional charge) every so gently dulled the pain, and as I leaned back on the couch in a state of euphoria, the lingering flavors of peanut, coconut, cardamom, and perhaps cinnamon seduced me back to my plate for another bite. Those flavors were the stars of the show! It was their prom night, and my tongue was the dance floor.

First, I want to say that I love this place. It's definitely my most frequented Asian joint. As long I live within walking distance of one of the locations, it will remain so.

The problem I have is as follows:

I am sitting here typing this with a burning mouth. I ordered a pad thai, medium heat, with beef. Although I chose a rather tame heat level this time around, I have ordered each (mild-thai hot) multiple times.

My kitchen has red pepper flakes but I personally use ghost pepper flakes. I ate jalepenos from my parent's garden as a kid. I can handle a good burn but don't always seek it.

This joint has great food but answering their question regarding heat is futile. I don't have any thai chilies in my dish but there are seeds galore. This is a thai hot dish without the chilies to really finish it off.

In all my life, I have never encountered a restaurant so inconsistent with its spices. Hopefully I can digest enough of this massive pad thai portion before Sweet Action closes. I'm sure I'll still need the ice cream to quell the burn. I'm feeling cannoli and...
