The Irish Rover on South Broadway is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a full-on experience with a lively atmosphere and a weekly calendar of specials and events that keep people coming back. Whether you're in the mood for a quiet pint or a boisterous night out, the Rover has a vibe for every occasion. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of classic Irish pub coziness and Denver's laid-back, modern feel. On a chilly night, the dark wood interior and warm lighting create a perfect refuge, where you can settle into a booth with friends and feel right at home. But when the weather's nice, the rooftop patio is the place to be, offering stunning views and a chance to soak up the sun. It's a versatile space that adapts to the mood, whether it's a casual happy hour, a lively game day, or a full-blown dance party. What truly makes the Irish Rover a staple is its lineup of weekly specials, which offer both great value and a reason to visit on any given night. Monday: The week kicks off with $10 Pizzas from 3-10 PM. This is a great deal for a casual start to the week, and the pub also hosts an Open Mic Comedy night, which brings a fun, lighthearted energy to the space. Tuesday: It's Taco Tuesday from 3-10 PM, with $1 Tacos that are perfect for a cheap and cheerful meal. Wednesday: Get your fill of Half Priced Wings from 3-10 PM, a perfect pairing for their Geeks Who Drink Trivia night. The crowd for trivia is always enthusiastic, creating a friendly, competitive vibe. Thursday: Half Priced Burgers from 3-10 PM are a fantastic deal, and the evening often features "Split The G" where you can try and guess the weight of a Guinness for a prize. Friday and Saturday: The pub transforms into a vibrant nightspot with Dance Parties starting at 9 PM. On Friday, you can also grab Half Priced Fish & Chips from 3-10 PM, an ideal way to fuel up before a night of dancing. Sunday: The week winds down with $10 Pizzas from 2-10 PM, making it a great spot for a lazy Sunday meal. The Irish Rover successfully balances its authentic pub feel with a dynamic schedule of events. It's the kind of place where a single visit on a trivia night can have a completely different feel than a weekend dance party, but every experience is defined by the same welcoming, energetic atmosphere. It's a true Denver favorite...
Read moreI went with the denverdamas. They weren't very kind on the bar although there was almost nobody she refused to serve me a drink, on the back patio for over 45 people there was only one person who bring the food and the drinks and took orders, and he took his time. So I got a mimosa at the bar, although she didn't make me feel welcome and was upset with me because I was ordering there. The drink was good 😊 My friends ordered food, which look amazing. I order fried fish and chips. The fish had huge amount of frying mix around (,bread type of texture) the fish piece itself were very small. It was brittling apart. The chips contained of 6 small piece of potatoes, which was the main dish here. Compare to other places where I order cips and fish, I would say that this was not great, not even good. Fine would be exegerated. But what the other people order look like plenty of food. So don't order fish and chips here, do not recommend. Price for the fish and chips was about 18$! I don't know what the menu says. But this same dish usually I pay 12$near little man 🍨, or in Italian restaurant. The quantity served in another place is enough to fill you. The chips is plenty. Here wasn't so great. But I am going to give it a second try. And update...
Read more2022: Edit to one star: i was extremely excited to go back after covid and 3 years passed only to have the bartender with long blond hair who seemed jacked up on coke, crack or what ever his amphetamine is his preference tell me I couldn’t eat a slice of pizza inside when the kitchen was open. I was surprised by this and asked if there was a sign i missed he said it was standard that restaurants not allow outside food. Having worked in food service since i was 15, I know this to be extremely untrue. While i was collecting myself he walked away for all of 1 minute and then came back to harass me because I didnt get up fast enough. He then grabbed my drink and told me to leave. All because i didnt jump to his demands FAST ENOUGH. I was going to get up and walk outside but before I ever had the chance he treated me complete trash for not jumping when he said jump.
2019: So surprised that the food was great. The comedy show was also pretty good. I had the crab and artichoke dip which i knew was a risk, but it paid off! Drinks were good and reasonable. The bartender...
