My only regret is that we didn't know sooner. Unbelievable, perfect, absolutely delicious everything. The chicken literally brought back childhood memories of chicken after church. The green chili macaroni and cheese was shared by all and there was none left. The biscuits are served with butter and you better make sure everybody gets their own because sharing can go really bad really quick. This is truly a gem, a diamond in the rough, that little spot on Broadway that you probably driven past a thousand times. I had the four piece split 50/50 between normal and Tennessee flavored. The spice on that Tennessee flavored is undescribable, just stupid good oozing with flavor. The original has so much flavor in it I didn't think the Tennessee was going to be able to compete with it, until I did and it did. The chicken is served with a little bowl of brown gravy? Save that for the chicken breast. Not that it needs it because that white meat is almost as tender as the dark meat and you know I would be lying if I said it was the same. If somebody at the table got french fries and you didn't, borrow one and give it a gravy bath... so good. Everybody enjoyed everything, it's very affordable. My family of six walked out of there holding our bellies for $148 and that was with one dessert everybody had tea or Sprite or some beverage and an alcoholic beverage was consumed as well.
Wait for it, did I mention it all the chicken is gluten free? That's right, the chicken's fingers the chicken breast the chicken thigh the chicken wing every single piece gluten-free. My daughter was clinically diagnosed with celiacs when she was four. I've done my best to make good gluten-free chicken and I've gotten Good at it. I'm never making fried chicken again I'm going there every time. I honestly can't believe there wasn't a line going down Broadway. If you like fried chicken you absolutely have to go here. If you like fried chicken and you eat a gluten-free diet you're welcome. This was my first visit here, but my daughter who has no choice but to eat gluten-free made this her third trip down Broadway. A lot of places say that their food is gluten free. if my daughter eats there she will tell you whether it's gluten-free or not in about 30 minutes. This establishment does a very good job to prevent cross-contamination, she has not gotten sick.
Everybody who works there is extremely helpful extremely friendly and my entire family was in and out at dinner time within an hour. Our waitress Jenna was very patient helpful and courteous. The place was clean the artwork, the decor eclectic all fun to look at. I wish I could do six stars but then again I'm just a normal guy giving you my opinion. My family loved it and we will be going back.
Lastly, as featured in the television show "diners drive-thrus and dives' featured this wonderful place as top 10 best fried chicken in the...
Read moreMadisen has continued to reach our with great customer service. Explained the extra charges have been removed. They are also releasing a new menu with clear changes. Thanks Madisen Look forward to returning to Post Chicken
Thank you Madisen for taking the time to respond and acknowledging our experience. This goes a long way for us and for other readers to see as well.
This is good food, but over-priced with no benefits. And unreasonable penny pinching to "the penny" No customer service on this! $20 for chicken with no sides, plan to spend an additional $6-11 for a side dish $15 for a salad
Chicken strips come with ketchup and ranch dressing as dip If you want to "substitute" they charge $.60-2.00 depending on the size This is not "in addition" to ketchup and ranch but instead!
All sides are priced at $6-11 INCLUDING FRIES, which comes with the chicken strips. If you want to substitute a different side you will get $2.00 added to your bill. Even though ALL same price individually.
As customary at most restuarants, they do not include any bread. You can add another $8.00 for biscuits
Your $20 chicken can quickly become $30-35 AND.. our server did not tell us upfront about the additional charges, he just added to our bill for us to ponder "how did I go from $20 to $35
Post, either be fair and stop nickel and diming customers that are already paying too much for chicken and NOT asking for free additional items, but substitute and SIMPLE, not a complicated request...... ~ one dipping sauce instead of 2 ~ one different side at the same price AND tell your serves to inform us you are not reasonable and will charge us for these simple requests. This puts your servers in a really awkward place on your behalf. Even though it is wrong the server did not tell us, I can understand him not wanting to stand up for you with unreasonable pricing Do your reputation, customers, and servers a favor......be a great, honest and fair restaurant. And please dont whine about the economical changes in society. These requests were not in addition, but replacement. We are business owners also, and customer...
Read moreMy partner and I were so stoked to finally try this place and could not have had a worse experience food-wise. Service was mid considering how dead it was but Iâm less annoyed with that and more disappointed with the food.
We came in on what seemed to be a dead Tuesday night at 7pm (letâs blame Halloween) and asked the host if we could put in a take out order and were told to sit at the bar to order with the bartender, totally normal and okay. When we walked in, there was one other table occupied and a few folks sitting at the barânot poppinâ, yet no one working there had any sense of urgency.
However, it seemed like the server rolling silverware at the bar was moving 10x faster than anyone else in the restaurant and after a couple of awkward exchanges with the bartender and said server we finally walked out 30 minutes later with 2 chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich, both with fries and a side of hatch Mac n cheese. Not a whole lot of food for that long of a wait and amount of money.
My friendos, I am a French fry connoisseur and these were so over seasoned with what tasted like lawryâs seasoning salt and paprika that I couldnât finish more than a few. Horrible. Beyond that, the fries themselves were chonky in size but hollow and staleâŚandâŚthey were put in the take out container with LETTUCE UNDERNEATH! Why?! Yâall, please stop putting lettuce in your take out containers if you want people to have crispy chicken and fries. This is very basic restaurant 101 stuff hereâshocked at this with multiple locations but I digressâŚThe meat in the tenders wasnât bad and pretty juicy but the odd grainy texture and seasoning in the batter was seriously lacking in flavor and a nice crunchy crunch.
Maybe itâs because it was Halloween, maybe itâs because the post thinks putting lettuce under fried foods is fancy and worth charging $14 forâone thing is for sure, I am sadly not recommending this...
