Yahya's Mediterranean Grill & Pastries offers an exceptional dining experience that blends delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the tone for a relaxing meal. The decor beautifully reflects the Mediterranean theme, creating a cozy yet elegant environment perfect for casual dining or special occasions. The food is a true highlight of the experience. The menu offers a range of flavorful Mediterranean dishes, from perfectly seasoned grilled meats to fresh, vibrant salads. The pastries are simply divine—flaky, fresh, and bursting with flavor, making it hard to resist ordering dessert. What truly sets Yahya's apart, however, is the remarkable service provided by Yahya himself. The owner goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and appreciated. Yahya's Mediterranean Grill is an awesome experience! I had heard of Yahya's, so when I drove from TX to CO, one of the stops I wanted to make was this restaurant. It did not disappoint!! Yahya's food is fresh, elegant and delicious! The service was fabulous and attentive and there wasn't anything on the menu we didn't love!! The bright colors and wonderful flavor spoke to the freshness of the tabbouleh! We tried almost everything on the menu (we came to eat 3x while in town) with the divine lamb shank, grilled shrimp, chicken shawarma, kafta kabob, tomato basil soup and the creamiest, most delicious hummus you've ever had being our favorites! The lamb gyro on top of baba ganoush was fantastic! And save room for dessert because their baklava (and new chocolate baklava) and kanafeh were superb and all made fresh in-house. I do have to say that their chocolate mousse was my ultimate favorite!! I could eat it all day! I told Yahya that my wish was for him to freeze and ship to Texas!! Yahya is kind, knowledgeable and a master chef. While in Denver do not miss this gem!!!

Falafel was extra crunchy, for those who like crunchy. Coated in sesame seeds. Hard to taste any other spices mostly tastes like sesame. They weren't dry, but for me they also didn't stand out. Mushroom appetizer was a bit mushy compared to what I expected. The online photo appeared to have mushrooms on a shish kabob, which made me think they were roasted but the marinating has made them quite soggy. They tasted great but if you are a mushroom texture finicky person, skip these mushrooms. Hummus was average for me. Not glorious but not gross. I do agree it was very smooth. I felt like the prices and portions were pretty typical for Denver area Mediterranean food. I would like to try fried cauliflower, but there's only so much one person can eat and fried cauliflower isn't a next day kinda food. I don't really live nearby so I don't know if I'd return. Like many said, there are lots of Mediterranean options so if this one is close to you, try it but if it's far maybe pick someplace closer. For me, it falls in the middle.

Can't wait to go back! We came here for dinner the other night with a party of 6 - they allow reservations in advance and it was no problem booking a table earlier the same day. I would recommend a reservation if you plan on eating in because they were busy! It is a smaller space, but they were cranking out food and take-out orders like they were a big restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly - the head chef even came out to greet us and ask how everything was multiple times! The care shined through in the food as well. We had the baba ganoush, cauliflower, and falafel appetizers - I could honestly recommend all three of them. The falafel was some of the best I've ever had! For the main courses we all got kababs - I got to taste all of them (chicken, beef, kefta) and they were all great. I'm partial to kefta and it was delicious! The main courses come with a side of seasoned rice, pita bread, and hummus. It was a LOT of food for what it costs! I will definitely be back here again.

If we’ve been here, it was right before Covid hit and when it was a small buffet-style restaurant. We loved the buffet because you could try everything, even pastries. Hence, why we stopped two days ago, but it is no longer a buffet, and understandably so. Though, their food is still delicious. We ordered the beef and chicken skewers for two, which came with a large bowl of yellow rice and salad, soup and the creamiest humus. While the meats were all tasty, we liked the beef kabob the best, not the kafta type one, which seemed a little gamey (it could have been lamb and lamb does have a stronger flavor). For drinks, we ordered their hot Turkish and hibiscus teas. In the hour we were there, the restaurant was not busy, but it seemed they received many takeout orders. People dashed in and out for take out! Yet my daughter and I sat outside and enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of life on Colfax. Also, the waitresses and waiters were all friendly and attentive.

Ya Hala was my wife’s favorite Middle-eastern restaurant for two reasons: the hummus and the chicken shawarma. Okay, maybe three reasons - add baklava to that short list. Ya Hala closed, however, and since then we haven’t really found a Arabic restaurant of equal quality. Now the search may be over. Intrigued after reading several positive reviews in local media, I managed to convince her to try lunch at Yahya’s Mediterranean Grill & Pastries. This restaurant is relatively new, although the owner and head chef worked previously for the Ali Baba Grill in Boulder. My wife, happily, was quite pleased with our meal. Her chicken shawarma was superb. The pita was a perfect combination of chewy and crispy. The hummus was creamy, the baba ganoush more rich and tangy. We’ll try the baklava next time. It looked quite enticing on a tray on the counter, just out of the oven. But we had already ordered banana and honey milkshakes! Now we have a reason for returning.
