I have mixed feelings giving this review. Mixed because I absolutely LOVE the food and it's quality and want to give them 5 stars. Mixed because 8 times out of 10 they will get it wrong and those times deserve 1 star. So to be fair - I'm giving them 3 stars knowing they are capable and sometimes deserving of getting a perfect rating.
Every Friday my coworker and I order the Cobb Salad for lunch to be delivered from the DTC location. It's our treat we look forward to each week. And honestly, when the salad is done right - it's the best in town - hands down! The ranch dressing is delicious and freshly made (and gluten free - great for Celiacs like me). The salad portions are good size. The chicken is seasoned and cooked perfectly and never chewy or fatty. The bacon is crisp and thick and never burnt. The spring mix lettuce is always fresh. The avocados are never bruised. The delivery drivers are very friendly and respectful (and we PRE-tip well!). The problem lies with the actual salad makers at the restaurant.
The most common ingredient left off the salad is the Gorgonzola cheese. (as a cheese addict - I just want to cry when the cheese is missing!) But one time they left off EVERYTHING except the lettuce and tomatoes. At approximately $15 a salad - (after taxes and tip) - that's a chunk of change for a container of lettuce and a couple of tomato slices (they PROMPTLY brought us new - and perfect - salads after we called to complain). Sometimes the avocado is left off. Sometimes we don't get the extra ranch dressing we paid for. Sometimes the red onions are left on - the one ingredient we request be removed from both salads. Sometimes we call and complain, sometimes we shrug our shoulders and just eat what they brought. And order again the following Friday with the hope that maybe they'll get it right - because when they do get it right - it's the bomb!
If I were the manager of this restaurant - I would put a list of ingredients of the salads where they salad making magic happens. They have many salad options - so we understand that it's hard to remember every single item and every single customized request. But given that the items which are usually left off are ones that are supposed to be in the salad, it might help their odds improve of getting it made right. I also suggest having a quality control person to oversee every item that's ready for delivery.
And lastly - I know they've had delivery driver shortages in the past, but given that we are located just a few blocks from their restaurant (and their parking options suck otherwise we'd go and get it - tried that before too) it's ridiculous that there are times when we wait 1.5 - 2 full hours for our salads to arrive. We've started ordering online as early as 9:30 am so we can have our salads delivered by noon. Sometimes they shock us and show up 30 minutes after ordering - sometimes they still show up late.
So that's my review - SO MUCH POTENTIAL - so often disappointed. If you want good, healthy, delicious food - order from Yampa. You will love it. If you are a stickler for getting what you ordered and paid for in a timely manner - you may want to...
Read moreI have loved this place for awhile now but our most recent order prompted me to write this review. I placed an order for delivery online. They are always fast and manage to find our apartment easily when not many do. Unfortunately, when I opened the bag I noticed the two cookies I ordered were missing. I called the phone number and was offered either a refund or to deliver them. I asked for them to deliver but told them it was no rush. Not even 10 minutes later they delivered our two missing cookies and included a $2 off coupon. I have never had a restaurant even offer to deliver the missing items or refund them. Usually they tell you that the next time you come in they will give you whatever was missing. I've had this happen with Panera, Chipotle, and a local Pho restaurant. The measures taken by Yampa were far and away better than my previous experiences.
Of course the food is also delicious. I get my fiance something different pretty much every time we order and he has loved all of it. His favorites are the Turkey Trailhead and the Pilgrim. I am a bit obsessed with the Hot Springs and order it almost everytime. I also tried the Creamy Chicken Poblano soup and it was delicious! The reason this whole thing happened was my love of the Triple Chocolate Cookie. It is not overly chocolatey while still seeming like a cross between and brownie...
Read moreEDIT 9/10/2019 All issues below were addressed very professionally by the owner! Now each sandwich is absolutely delicious (like before :) ) and there has been no further veggie mix up. Like I told the owner- I'm forever a patron of their sandwich heaven! I've never ever ever received better, direct, professional customer service! Thank you to David :) **
Been ordering from this place for about two weeks. The first few times were amazing- everything was perfect- meat was incredible and vegetables were fresh. Today I just picked up an order. The lady was very very VERY kind to me however- the sandwiches were pretty mix matched as to what was on them. Usually this wouldn’t be an issue but I’m ALLERGIC. TO. PEPPERS. I specifically ask every time for specific veggies due to my allergies and up until this point no one had done wrong and everyone had prepared my sandwich correctly. I’m a prepared person. Imagine if this was an older person with an ALLERGY or a CHILD. Or even someone my age that doesn’t have access or money to an epi-pen. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU ARE MAKING SANDWICHES PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PEOPLE HAVE ALLERGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Learned my lesson... not coming back here but putting ALLERGIES in all caps on the...
