I just want to say, prior to tonight, my previous experience at Los Cocos has always been pleasant. The food is okay and service is above mediocre.
Let's skip the fillers and straight to the points...multiple things that happened. When I was midway finished with my food (Grilled Lime Chicken without the beans), I found an uncooked piece of chicken underneath the second piece of Grilled Chicken I haven't touched. It wasn't even a sliver of meat, it was about 1/2"x2" size. At first, I thought it was just a piece of vegetable hiding underneath the chicken. As I examined the foreign material in my dish with a flash light, used the napkin to sop the marinade, cut through it, it was clear it was a raw piece of chicken. When the waiter came by and asked how the food was, I pointed out to the raw piece of meat on my dish and said "I think this is a piece of raw chicken". His response was "That's not chicken, that's onion or something." I then replied "No, that's not onion." He just stood there, basically just shrugged his shoulder like "eh" and walked away without and apologizing. At this time, I thought he was about to get the manager and let him know about the situation. So I waited and waited but no manager. I had to waive another waiter after taking care of her customer and tell her if I can see the manager. The manager finally came and I showed him the piece of raw meat that was on my dish. He asked me if I wanted a different one but told him that I lost my appetite. 4.The waiter never did apologize once for the situation.
Some of these might be nit-picking but only because of how the waiter handled things. I was left hanging as if he had so many tables to take care of. He didn't own up for not calling the manager perhaps he didn't want to be held accountable for what happened. I don't know. This is just my opinion. The manager, however, did take my food out...
Read moreWhen our son returned from picking up our $70 order, we discovered one of our the steak fajitas was missing. So I called the restaurant to complain and the person answering the phone said the manager had been notified and meal would be replaced. Since my son had already driven 24 miles to get there and back, I went to personally pickup the missing item. I guess they were expecting a man because when I got there and explained the situation the hostess acted like I was lying. When I started getting angry they reluctantly agreed to replace the meal.
Since this was “THEIR” mistake and we had already driven a total of 48 miles to get our food, I requested something to compensate us for the time and gas. (Basically, I would have taken some queso to go with the two giant bags chips included with out meal). I could not believe it when the manager flat out refused, once again trying to insinuate that I was lying and just wanted something for free He claimed he had personally packed our order and knew everything was in the bag. I explained that I did not have the time or the gas money to drive that far for a handout, but he just walked away. To make matters worse by the time I got back home my food was ice cold.
So Happy Mother’s Day to me.
As far as I am concerned they get barely 1 star for customer service, 2 stars for decent food, and 0 stars for failing to own up to...
Read moreI am amending my previously high review for Los Cocoa Derby. Normally it is a good experience but today 4-6-24 was really bad. I'm fact I owe my complaint to a fairly newer girl named Jennifer not one of the regulars. First, she drug us all the way to the back when the place is wide open and I declined the seating in booth in the back when we generally sit in the open areas at a table. She was a very poor hostess, turned out to be she seated us in "her" area. Worst was my granddaughter order a taco salad and I ordered the Tostada on the lunch menu. She brought my husband's food correctly and brought us two totally different lunches that we had not ordered. We declined was our original lunch. She probably told the cook we changed our mind but we didn't. Lastly, when I looked at the ticket she did not give me the tostada lunch price but rung my lunch as a la carte so it was pretty much a disgusting lunch and I walked out upset for the first time ever at Los Cocos. I chose not to tell the manager because I was but am still angry as to the total incompetence of the server but I probably won't be the one to recommend we go there...
