Popped in for a late dinner with 5 others. Diningroom was not too busy for a Friday evening, surprisingly. This was our first visit to the Hershey Red Robin. We were seated upon arrival and greeted by our server within a few minutes. Ordered a house cocktail. About 10 minutes later, the bartender came by to advise they did not have Grey Goose and so I would need to choose another brand if I still wanted the cocktail. I immediately selected another brand vodka but was shocked to hear that I would be charged additional. I responded that they had advertised the special drink for the price listed, and if they needed to substitute, that was on the restaurant, not the customer. She refused and so I canceled the drink. When our food arrived, it was plated minimally and looked as though it was prepared either hurriedly or without much attention. One burger ordered was the Banzai, and although the burger was cooked to the desired doness, the pineapple ring was about the size of a silver dollar. When a member of our party asked for an additional pineapple ring, the server advised there would be an additional cost. As if this was not insulting enough, when our party had finished eating their first serving of bottomless fries, we asked for a second serving. The server asked how many french fries each of us would like--as if it was OUR responsibility to provide an exact number of french fries! We have never been to a Red Robin with such poor service, ungraciousness, and unwelcoming spirit. Needless to say, although we recommend Red Robin for its great tasting burgers, we do not recommend this...
Read moreOk so the only reason it's not a 4 is because if you are near an amusement park or any major tourist attraction, you need to make sure you have adequate staff (I would have taken friendly). So we called ahead got on the waitlist and showed up. I gave them my name and the hostess said they were just clearing tables off so it would only be a couple minutes. Fast forward 15 minutes and a group (same size as us) came in and got seated even though when they came in they asked how long the wait would be for their party. I went to the hostess to make sure we didnt accidentally get skipped. She said it would be a couple minutes they were just clearing tables. Same sentence as before but less friendly. When I asked how long the wait was she just said not long. I wasnt sure if i was clear so i asked how many minutes, she said not long. Ok so hostess can have off days i get that but at the same time you are in the hospitality industry. When we did get seated we were shown to our table. The manager actually came by and had to take our order after 15 minutes of waiting without a server. Again I understand restaurants can be busy and the manager did apologize but didnt resolve it beyond an apology. We did pay full price for the meals and the food was good. Very nice sized portions. I am happy I got an appetizer because it did take alittle to get all the food. As we left my husband said there was a Wendy's we should have gone to. Since I suggested red Robin and it turned out not great he gets to pick next time. They need to advertise for servers or pay their staff more. Seemed...
Read moreCame in and was seated right away, however I was looking into other restaurants in the area to go to other than here because it took that long for a waitress to show up to my table. The waitress also said that their “system” is down for the call button on the tablet screen placed on the table. If that’s the case, get rid of the dam tablets then or close the restaurant during a slow time to fix that issue. My drink was flat probably because someone in the back that does their job filled the drinks, yet they sat around until the slow as molasses waitress brought it to the table. If there’s an understaffing issue than don’t fill up every seat. I would rather wait 30 minutes to be seated then to be seated in an understaffed restaurant and look into promanti bros instead of coming here. If you haven’t tried, promanti bros is fantastic by the way, the only other locations are in Pittsburgh. I am still sitting here waiting for my food and I already know that my fries are not bottomless as I could be in the car and I can drive to the nearest grocery store, buy fries and make them in my air fryer at home by the time I get a “bottomless fry” refill.
I think it’s best to sit at the bar if you want better service and someone else mentioned that. I might not get to Hershey Chocolate world and enjoy my time there because Red Robin’s service is that slow that it wasted too much of my time. What a shame, slow service should mean customer compensation, but unfortunately it isn’t and it’s best to either get fast food or starve....
