Can honestly say I had my worst-ever experience at any coffee shop (not just Starbucks) today at this location.
Placed my mobile order at 12:54pm, got my drink at 1:24pm after waiting in the drive thru and being told to pull around because it still wasn't ready. I would have left (even though I prepaid through the app), had I not been stuck in the drive thru.
I'll never knock any business for being short staffed - I know a lot of places are struggling to find help and it's not their fault. That didn't seem to be the issue in this case. As I pulled up to the drive thru window, I saw three employees. Two appeared to be running around making drinks and bumping into each other, one was really doing nothing (had a headset so maybe taking drive thru orders? But never actually saw her take one.)
At this point, after giving my name for my mobile order and waiting in line for over 20 minutes, I found out my drink (that I pre ordered on the app, mind you) hadn't even been started. Since there's black tea in the drink, it has to steep. After waiting at the window for a few minutes and watching the chaos ensue inside, I was asked to pull around the front of the building and wait. There, I waited (again) and finally got my drink. With no straw, naturally (which I didn't even bother asking for at that point, I just left).
Again, zero judgement if they're short staffed, but it seemed like maybe a lack of common sense and training were responsible in this case?
I certianly wasn't the only one waiting that long and I would hope this is a one-off occurance, but it was definitely enough for me to never want to visit this location again.
I hope the managers can spend some time educating their staff on what to do and how to interact with customers when they get backed up. No apology or explanation was given to me as to why it took so long - not that that would have changed anything, but at least I would have felt...
Read moreI love Starbucks in Williamsport. The staff act like they are always so happy to see you, inside and at the drive thru.
The fact that your name is on orders really allows for the staff to be extra personable.
I pretty much always get the same things. Their cold chocolaty Frappuccino is amazing and I love their iced chai.
The cake pops are the perfect size to treat yourself without going overboard. The ham and Swiss croissant is my favorite.
The staff are quick to get your order done and make sure everyone is noticed and felt welcomed.
My only issues are with the app.
The app shouldn't allow drive thru orders if the drive thru is closed.
I some times go in my pjs and do drive thru pick up only to have to go in. If I wanted to go in or knew the drive thru was closed when I ordered on the app, I would have gotten dressed. That's really embarrassing and I don't like that at all. Since I work from home, I don't always need to dress up.
Also every time I try to order a reusable cup they say sold out on the app but I can go inside and they have them. That don't make sense.
I won't fault Starbucks for that because that's why we do app reviews on the play store but I would appreciate these issues being...
Read moreI usually have a good experience at a Starbucks when I go in but this particular day was not good. I don't drink coffee so I always order a caramel apple spice. Which is apple juice, milk, dulche flavoring and whipped cream. I also get an egg white and feta wrap and usually a baked pastry. As I waited for the nice ladies to prepare my order, I did see my drink come up and had my name called out and what type of drink it was. As I go towards the counter, a lady comes out of nowhere and steals my drink and walks out. I stood there confused as to what just happened as it was totally brazen that someone would do that. So I did mention it to the nice girls behind the counter and I received a new one. But sadly, when I got it, this time around the drink was nasty. It definitely was not what I had at other locations. It tasted weird. Two sips and I had to throw it away. The egg white wrap was delicious as always but I did receive the wrong pastry too. I ordered the pumpkin loaf and got a plum danish instead. The danish wasn't very good either.
