A Culinary Delight: Avocado Toast and Decaf Cappuccino 😍☕️ Oh, what a treat to share my recent visit to this delightful café, where every bite and sip was a pure sensory pleasure! 🥑🍞✨ 🍃 Avocado Toast on Whole Grain Bread 🍃 I indulged in their heavenly Avocado Toast, meticulously crafted on a foundation of whole grain bread. The moment I laid my eyes on it, a symphony of colors and textures unfolded before me. Each slice of bread embraced a generous, velvety coat of avocado perfection, catapulting my taste buds to cloud nine. ✨ The Perfect Toast 🥂 The whole grain bread was artfully toasted to perfection golden brown and crisp on the outside, yet marvelously soft on the inside. With every bite, a divine crunch and a gentle sweetness danced together, composing pure harmony in my mouth. ✨ A Symphony of Flavors 🎶 As I savored each morsel, my palate was serenaded by the delightful interplay of the creamy avocado and the meticulously balanced seasoning – a symphony conducted from the first bite to the last. The earthy and nutty undertones of the whole grain bread provided a subtle backdrop for the vibrant flavors to shine, ensuring an unforgettable taste experience. ☕️ Decaf Cappuccino with Oat Milk ☕️ To complement this extraordinary toast, I opted for their velvety-smooth Decaf Cappuccino with the richness of oat milk. The moment the cup touched my lips, it was love at first sip. ✨ A Perfect Pairing 💫 As the bold and robust flavors of the avocado lingered on my palate, the cappuccino swept in like a gentle breeze, perfectly complementing the indulgent journey. Its medium-bodied taste and seamless smoothness intertwined with the lingering flavors, bringing a harmonious conclusion to this extraordinary culinary adventure. If you're looking for a symphony of flavors that will leave you spellbound, head to Awake Café @awakedetroit. Prepare for an enchanting experience that whispers poetry on your taste buds! 🌟✨ Praise God for this gem that I stumbled on today ❤️ Psalms 107:9 "For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." #awakethesoul #praisegod #midtowndetroit #coffeelover

This was first visit to this quaint cafe. The staff is very friendly and full of positive energy. The decor is simple, old style and airy. There are two dining/comfort areas. There’s seating to dine as well as sofa and comfy chair seating. The menu is simple, not unnecessarily overwhelming. I was going to get a carry-out but after finally finding a place to park (construction) and receiving such a warm welcome, I decided to dine in. I had an awesome conversation with a college student from Arizona who’s interning as part of her Cultural Diversity program. I enjoyed The Canfield sandwich and a Cold Chai beverage. Typically, I eat half of a sandwich and take the other half to go…I couldn’t resist eating the whole sandwich. When you eat real food, good food that isn’t filled with trash but better ingredients…I did not feel stuffed or uncomfortable at all. They also offer cookies, brownies and breakfast items as well as a small cooler with other beverages like ginger teas that are made locally. This cafe was definitely worth the parking inconvenience and the one block walk in the heat. I will definitely go back to try other menu items and repeat the same order as well. If you want a quaint, quiet place to eat and/or have coffee or tea, this is the place.

A hidden gem off of 3rd street in Midtown! People, I’m going to need you to venture a block or two off of Woodward and Cass to sample some of Detroit’s best eateries. I had the pleasure of *literally* stumbling into Awake following a weekend morning run. Not only was their food tasty (I was a fan of my avocado toast and oranges + their delicious homemade granola bar) but the staff has actually started to create our running crew specialty items like Runners Toast (avo toast with egg) for some of our regulars. This friendly, home like atmosphere is felt the second you step foot in the shop. We were told by the staff that Awake doesn’t have a singular owner and actually functions as a collective model which was really cool! And it’s always nice to support a local business rather than a large chain. The back room has a plethora of books and board games for you to try out as well as some comfy seating. In sum, this is a great cafe/coffee shop but also just a really neat spot to hang out or meet up with friends. Street parking is available.
