this bar has genuinely put me in a depression and makes me want to break my lease, for the past few months they blast their music ALL day, which is strange because Iāve never had a major issue with the noise before and this is the third time I have lived within the block of bronx. itās starting anywhere from 3-6 pm until TWO. EVRRY. SINGLE. DAY. I understand I live i by a bar but this is ridiculous, I will be in my room with the door closed and fan and white noise blasting and all I can hear is the bass and my roommate can FEEL it from his room. Iāve had multiple friends in my building and nearby buildings complaining about the bass level as well anywhere from the Waldorf to down Third past Marcus, which is ridiculous considering this is a DIVE bar and not a club, the fact I can hear ārock with youā by MJ blasting half a block down the street and feel the base from it at 4 pm is pathetic. I used to LOVE this place but they clearly do not respect the nearby community which is unfortunate because the community is the reason they successfully operate. I know a few ppl have called and have politely asked if they could possibly turn even just the bass down a bit and I swear itās gotten worse since then, the owner does not respect his neighbors who actually LIVE HERE and itās sad, I canāt focus on my remote job or studying and I seriously canāt tKe it anymore, as I type this, I canāt even hear my movie over the sound of the thumping bass, itās 8 on a Tuesdayā¦,I feel like Iām going to snap I canāt take this anymore. please I beg, read this and have some empathy, PLEASE. I canāt stress this enough that I am begging you because I want to believe you guys care. the burger is great,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me tell you.... this bar was the savior of my night. I'm not from Detroit and I had uber'd to another bar originally only to arrive and it was closed. I quickly regrouped and remembered there was another pretty close. I called them to ensure they were indeed open, Joe answered the phone and confirmed. I arrived and ordered my drink. Joe was attentive while not being overbearing or cumbersome. I told him I'd just awakened because I'd been working overnights here and kinda had to scramble for a bar and that I'd originally uber'd to a bar that was closed. Having learned this Joe let me know he was closing down in enough time to order my Uber BEFORE he shut down. I walked outside when my Uber was getting closer and Joe opened the side door to be able to watch me until my Uber arrived. The level of genuine caring and overall compassion for another person he'd never met until today was truly beautiful to me. I think we could all be a little more like Joe š¤ (not to mention I sat at the bar how many others were happy to have Joe there and I soon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI make it a point to come here at least a few times a year. In the summer, with the garage doors open (two walls really), the place is completely relaxed and chill and pretty amazing to just hang out and enjoy yourself. Drink a few beers, smoke a few cigarettes (on the patio, of course) and enjoy life. The food is better than average. I normally just get a BLT sandwich, but it is pretty tasty. Beer selection is not the best, but I don't mind. If I can get a Labatt's I'll be fine. They have a few cheap beers, which is why I am only giving it 4 stars, not 5. Not so much the beer selection itself, but the cheap beers do attract the hipsters. And sometimes those hipsters can overwhelm the place. Mostly, it's fine: but sometimes it can be a wee bit much. Oh!! They have an awesome jukebox!! So, let's say 4.5 stars. Really shouldn't let the hipsters drag it down a whole...
