I was BANNED from Beyond Juice & Eatery by the owner Violet. For over a year I have supported this establishment regardless of the numerous mistakes made by various staff members, I inform their corporate of the issues and they rectify them right away. Once Violet became the owner she gave me her personal number to contact her to advise her if there were any issues with the service or her staff. For months we have been cordial and professional. However, yesterday when I informed her of her staffs unprofessional behavior (mixed up drinks, throwing drinks away, throwing gloves after being asked to change them to be sanitary after individual touched their face and began to proceed making food) towards another BJE patron, I was told I can no longer enter her establishments.

My daughter has Emanuel Syndrome, a rare genetic condition, where she has 16 different diagnosis including congenital heart defects (still waiting for open heart surgery). The first 2 years of her life she was on a feeding tube, and it became challenging to find foods that she can eat where it is easy for her to remember to breathe, chew, and swallow so that she does not choke when she is being nourished. So we (hubby & I) were very excited when we found items on BJE menu that she could orally tolerate.

I have been very professional with all BJE staff, corporate, and Violet when they make mistakes. I am patient and have given them over a year to adjust in being the new owner to get the order of operations intact so that there are no consumer discrepancies. I am Native American but people assume that I am African American, so to experience someone banning me from their establishment in 2022 is unbelievable. I used to tip the staff $5-$10 on smaller orders and $10-$20 for larger orders. The staff would be eager to prepare our orders due to the monetary tip they would earn. VIOLET told me to stop tipping her staff, who are mainly African American. Ever since we stopped tipping things have went down hill, there has been high turnover in her staff, and we decided to take a break from BJE. However, when you have special needs children with dietary limitations, you submit to that child's will.

It is common knowledge in the consumer world that some women of color are problematic customers, and just want something for nothing. I have not shown that type of behavior, I have never raised my voice, used profanity or disrespected anyone from BJE. Yet, I am banned.

There is panhandling that occurs right in front of BJE weekly, sometimes daily, and I have never seen the panhandler banned, yet I am banned.

I originally and genuinely wanted Violet to be successful with her BJE endeavor. However to be banned from BJE this is not business, this is discrimination, and this is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I am not sure if it is racist since there are people of color that work there, but since she is not African American and does not want her African American staff to be tipped, and the fact that I have been banned, I am not sure what to call it, but I do KNOW this is discrimination and BJE is inadvertently discriminating against my daughter who has a disability.

I attached my original review before...

I’m dissatisfied with the service I received 12/4/24. I’m not sure if it’s because the afternoon rush or just poor communication/customer service skills. I initially ordered breakfast grilled cheese and was told that was unavailable. N/P I then asked for a regular grilled cheese w/ tomato soup & Alive smoothie with Half Banana. I waited over 30 minutes to receive my order. The smoothie was not blended well b/c the ice was so crunchy. So one of the employees told me that since I got a half banana that is the reason why. And she then suggested I get half cup of ice. I order the same smoothie w/ half banana often and never had any issues until NOW! So I politely asked the barista to remake the smoothie w/ half banana and half ice as the other employee suggested. NOW LOOK the picture on the left is what is received. WHAT the F is that !? I had to get to work so I said forget it and left. I threw away the smoothie it was disgusting. I received my grilled cheese w/ tomatoes no side of tomato soup. One of the barista asked me if I wanted to add anything to my smoothie since I only had half banana and the young lady working the cash register told me and the barista accommodations can not be made. This was clearly miscommunication, no accommodation's or customer service provided. I’m a server so I know how to handle situations like this and I would never allow a customer leave unhappy and...

Usually I really like Beyond but today I did not have a very good experience. I am gluten free and fully aware of cross contamination being possible which is ok. Today I ordered through the app as I always do. Gluten free wrap and extra meat. I got back to work at the wrap was WHEAT (see pictures) so I walked back up and informed them. I was asked if I wanted a refund before even being asked if I wanted them to remake it. I asked if they did have the gluten free wraps and then asked them to just remake it as I still needed something to eat. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years, messed up/remake orders are ALWAYS supposed to be a priority. It took them 30 minutes to remake mine, mind you they were not slammed when I first got back and only about 4 tickets up for wraps and bowls. They finally got mine done, which they still forgot the double meat (see pictures) definitely was not double meat. I wouldn’t be upset but when you pay nearly $5 extra between gluten free and double meat it is frustrating. I just went back to work and ate because at this point I was very hungry.

To the owner, PLEASE just remind your employees to read tickets better and focus. I know how busy it can get but...
