If you’re after a solid breakfast burrito, this spot technically delivers, but you’ll want to get in while it lasts, because the way things are run, it’s hard to imagine this place sticking around much longer.
I placed an online order and walked into a mostly empty shop, four people dining, no line. A woman I assumed was the manager asked if I was ordering or picking up. I told her I was picking up and gave my name. She said, “Give me three minutes.” Five minutes later, she asked again if I was picking up. I waited another fifteen before peeking over the counter to see a bag with my name clearly visible on the receipt, untouched. By then, a small line had formed. The same manager looked at me again, asked “Picking up, right?” I said yes. She started walking toward the bag… until a cashier I hadn’t even spoken to claimed it was theirs, and the manager just turned and walked away.
After an awkward 30-minute standoff, they finally handed me my now-cold breakfast sandwich—minus the drink, which they (and I) forgot in the midst.
The food? Passable, but like I said this rate, it won’t be long before the...
Read moreI stopped by Effin Egg for breakfast and had a pretty mixed experience—outstanding food, but a very uncomfortable atmosphere while dining in.
The highlight was definitely the food. I ordered the Side Chick Burrito with added bacon, and it was excellent. The portion was generous without going overboard, and the spicy aioli had a great kick that brought the whole thing together. It’s the kind of burrito that hits the spot and leaves you satisfied. Ordering is done through a digital kiosk when you walk in, and my order was ready in about 20 minutes.
What threw the experience off, though, was a man walking around the dining area asking every person—multiple times—for any leftover coffee they hadn’t finished. He approached nearly everyone who walked in. It was awkward, disruptive, and honestly made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Staff didn’t step in, which made it feel like we were all left to deal with the situation ourselves.
I’d absolutely go back for the food, but next time I’ll probably...
Read moreI work at a restaurant down the street from this place and when I got to work this morning I recommended to my manager that we order from this new breakfast spot. We noticed the items on the menu were a bit pricey but decided to try it anyways since the photos looked so good. He returns with our orders and unfortunately our staff was disappointed. My order in particular was supposed to come on a gluten free bun, which costs $2 extra on top of the $10 sandwich price. They did not have any gluten free buns, so they gave me an egg, few pieces of turkey bacon and a melted piece of cheese in a box. No sauce. No bun. For $12. They did not even refund the $2 for the gluten free bun. Everyone else said their portions were small and the food was underwhelming for the price. Very unfortunate this restaurant wasn’t good considering it’s one of the only quick breakfast spots...
