Nice concept but it's badly interpreted... let me explain as another reviewer said "How can you have a Royale with Cheese and there's no burger on it!?" The said Sandwich is actually a brisket sandwich on a bun no burger what-so-ever enters the picture! I went the purest way a Cheeseburger with Cheese for the name sake of it all! Upon ordering I was never asked to what temperature I wanted the burger(rare, med....) I recieved a well done burger that was poorly constructed at best! Let me jus say I added an Avocado and an Eye on it and it fell apart as soon as I tried picking it up! There was only one very small piece of romaine lettuce on there, they broke my egg with all of the Yolk pouring out all over the paper(which I couldn't eat because I was grossed out by where that paper's been!) The only thing that saved the meal was the fries Garlic Parm, mashed potatoey inside with that great flavour(the flavour saved it here they could've cooked another minute or so to get them crispier). Soooo in all I love that it's Halal, you can substitute a vegan bean patty for any burgers, or chicken and the fries. The draw backs burger is too small for the bun(for $14.00 the meat better hit from end to end of that bun!). Other items I noticed that the employees seem to think it's Ok to let their friends walk into the back ie food prep area and lastly I did not find any of the staff friendly or knowlegable of their menu or concept! It still can be saved tho, jus needs tweaking excellent...
Read moreTALK ABOUT A GOOD BURGER, HOLY SH_T!!!!!!! I DIDN'T THINK BURGERS COULD TASTE AS GOOD. With that being said, they offer an eclectic selection of authentic burger combinations and recipes that will satisfy even the most discerning appetites. Along with sandwich traps, and some interesting appetizing options, this place aims to please as many people as it possibly can. The fries, are the real stars of the show however (and compared to the burgers that's saying a hell of a lot!!!!!!!) they were tender, yet crispy on the outside. Oddly shaved, and season to perfection. Although they have a good selection of fountain drinks (pepsi-based from my observation) they also have a splendid offering of local craft sodas that should satisfy any appetite. While the dessert options may be scant, what they have, can't be beat. ( My wife still won't stop talking about the s'mores cookie that she commandeered for me 😆) This is what a true Burger joint is supposed to be, Good food, good service, friendly atmosphere, and a little something eclectic. I believe the name of the establishment covers the eclectic part. Should I find myself back in Detroit for any reason, and should I find myself craving a unique, and delicious burger, hands down Royal with cheese will be my destination. I recommend anyone go there if you're looking for a tasty burger, with some of the best fixins I can think of. I hope to see you all...
Read moreImmediately walking in you see an amazing mural that harkens back to the epic classic Pulp Fiction and the menu follows suit with no shortage of creativity. Burgers, Fries, Milkshakes all on display with add-ons to make it even more unique and more personal! I ordered the Kruncher with Parmesan Fries while my wife ordered the Mia Wallace (based on the name alone) and we sat down with much excitement for our food to arrive.
The food came to us, presented as you'd expect a "food court" diner to serve, metal tray and paper lined with beautiful burgers and fries on top. The burgers both had incredibly unique sauces, mixed with peppers, veggies and with chips layered in there between everything. Each bite was a full on onslaught of flavor and left us talking about what we tasted the entire time. A delicious combo with the Parmesan Baked french fries that kept us kicking our fingers and wanting to come back.
The inside looks like it was immaculate when they opened and it has not been kept up with too much intentionality, the music was an odd choice for the aesthetic and eventually there was no music...there was no discoverable trash can and they were anxious to take our trays with food still to eat. It was a bit pricey all in all, but a memorable...
