I’ve been a Google Local Guide for some time, and I rarely leave one-star reviews — but in this case, it’s well deserved. I have a shellfish allergy and specifically ordered the Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya, which, according to the menu, does not contain shrimp. When my order finally arrived, I took a few bites and realized there was no chicken — only shrimp and sausage. I immediately brought this to our server’s attention. We then spoke with the manager, Derrick, who explained that shrimp is always included with the chicken jambalaya. (Not true ). He then stated that most of their dishes are cross-contaminated with shellfish. He initially said he would remove the entree from the bill, and the restaurant did provide a corrected version of the dish with chicken / andouille sausage with a watery red sauce. I did not eat this dish as well. Menu picture and actual pic attached. However, despite acknowledging the cross-contamination risk and the initial error, the manager refused to remove the dish from the bill and added an 18% gratuity for poor service . Derrick was laughing at the situation. He was unprofessional, immature, slick and unnecessarily rude during the entire interaction. He should not be a manager anywhere. I should have spoken with the owner of the restaurant not Derrick. For those with food allergies or expecting professional service, I would not recommend this establishment.

Had a reservation for a party in the evening on Sunday, we get there, get sat. Everything was going good until the drinks started coming out, 2 servers for all the drinks? With BOTH MANAGERS walking around almost just watching us. Didn’t ask how things were. Didn’t even help the wait staff with the party. Drinks come out n we think should Order while the server was there given that it took a long time for our first round. We order apps, they were good, though we didn’t get our alligator because, the server said “nobody ran the app it’s all hard in the window, we have food runners we tip out to do that for us” first of all, if they don’t run your food, shouldn’t you ask your managers for help? Or did they refuse to help? My guess is they were too busy just watching us. So we order our food. I used to run a restaurant and when the server came out with our food n said “hot plates” I knew the pasta was about to have a “film” on it from being cooked under the pass, why? Because neiter server had the help from their managers. I get my food, Ginger Salmon. N I’m not sure how salmon is supposed to be cooked, but cold, no glaze, and raw in the middle, I don’t think is supposed to be like that for $35. We had multiple plates cold out of our 30 plate reservation ( confirmed the day prior). Lobster tail that was hard as a rock, pasta that was cold, apps the never came out, drinks that never came. Our bill was over a grand, we will not be back. Worst restaurant in Greektown. All they care about it that check. They don’t care about what they serve. Should order the gumbo n ask yourself was it worth it.

The management TEAM proceeded to argue with the head of our party about the service, “you added 5 people” yes we did and told you. 2 servers on 25-30 is unheard of regardless.

At the end the Manager with the apron, my guess is BOH manager, said, “Just get them their bill, we’re closed anyways”. Excuse me?! Your boh messed up the food. Your FOH manager couldn’t get his hands out his pockets walking around. N all you guys could do was say sorry almost throwing your hands up. Better off going to long John silvers for seafood. Reading the other reviews- looks like the management team needs to learn how to lead their team besides twiddling...

This was an incredibly strange experience for the seven us that were involved.. when we arrived, we explained that all of us may not be there, but one of our group was starving The boy host pointed to the upper bar area where music was playing and said that we could sit up there and order drinks and food without having to wait. There were three of us to begin with then others joined a total of seven. A few minutes later, the host came over and told us that we could not sit there clearly a misunderstanding we thought that the upper bar area with the high tops and music playing was part of the bar. He said that we needed to all come back up to the front so he could see us at a table on the proper rotation for the waitress.

I asked if he could find out where we need to go and will all go so that we all did not have to go back up to the front .. and we would go wherever he instructed. sometime in between this a waitress came to us and gave us waters and said she would be serving us that she had only two tables that evening so far.. so we believed that whatever the problem was was worked out with the Table situation.

A a bit later.. The young boy host comes over with about six or seven large security, surrounded our table and all of us and told us that we needed to leave NOW! We were not sure why he said that we had disrespected the staff.. try to explain the conversation it looks, as there was some clear misunderstandings they would not have it. They were rude and demeaning to a very nice older group of women and two men that had not had anything to drink that day. In asking to speak to management, they had another young man who looked a lot like the host, but older saying that that was the decision that we needed to go now, and they were showing physical dominance over all of us. It was actually quite scary, disturbing and confusing. The waitress was lovely. Sadly, this waitress did not make the money she could’ve made off of our generous table. And none of it makes sense and we are still baffled...

The food was ABSOLUTELY disgusting. It was brought to us cold.

Two of the 3 drinks were mediocre. The 3rd drink clearly had rat poison or arsenic in it, because it was ABSOLUTELY undrinkable.

The server was nice, but I had concerns, because she thought she cut herself on some glass or catching a glass and kept checking herself at the table, because she was bleeding and couldn't pinpoint where the blood was coming from. The drink that was returned, had to be approved by the manager, who looked like he was 12 at best and didn't appear to know what was going on. Instead of asking what the problem was, because apparently the server had informed him, he came to the table and asked "do you want more simple syrup"?.

No thank you, I'd just like it taken off the bill please. "Ok".

When we received the bill. We were ALL charged 18% gratuity as well as some EVENT PARTY fee.

We asked the server what the EVENT PARTY fee was and she didn't know. She said the manager put that on when he removed the drink.

I'm a very generous tipper, but you are adding EXTRA fees with MINIMAL SERVICE. There's no way humanly possible that a $12 appetizer and a $35 pasta dinner should total $75 (with 18% and event party fees).

A SIDE salad with stuffed mushrooms and a drink $67 The vegetables and stuffed shrimp was BEYOND mediocre. It wasn't stuffed with ANYTHING and this was $80

Never again will I ever go to this restaurant.

How can you charge 18% for MEDIOCRE service How can you NOT explain what the EVENT PARTY fee is????

I guess you DON'T expect people to pay attention to the receipt.

Yes the 18% was printed on the menu, BUT have YOUR staff give 18% gratuity service.

The server never came to check on us, we never found out if she found the SOURCE of the bleeding, the manager or whoever she brought over to discuss the drink was useless AND if that was the manager, I see why they give MEDIOCRE service, because he wasn't fully there,...
