We decided to sit outside because it was 80 degrees in the D! After being sat we waited for about 10 minutes before I spoke to the host about our waitress. I was not upset, but I mentioned that we may have gotten lost in the shuffle because we were sitting at the table closest to the To Go Bar and due to the weather it was pretty busy. Our waitress came right over and apologized and said she could not see us and I said it was totally fine, as that was what I figured.
However, as our waitress was taking our order, the wind began to blow and we asked if we could move inside and she agreed informing us that she had a table right on the other side of the door. As we were walking in the side door that she pointed to, which was labeled “Exit Only”, a male inside yelled at us to go to the Hosts station. Our waitress reiterated to him that we wanted to move inside and he allowed it while speaking several expletives under his breath, throwing his hands up in the air, and walking over to the door and locking it. In my personal opinion he behaved like a toddler but it was extremely unprofessional not to mention he then made it difficult for the servers that were serving outside because they could no longer come into this door which was closest to the shake bar.
After he locked the door and continued to walk away toward the bar (alcohol) still saying expletives and looking back at us - I had to ask what his deal was and who he was. At this point I was very disgusted. I was even more disgusted and disappointed after finding out that he was the General Manager. I immediately asked who his boss was because I couldn’t believe that he would behave in this way, be so negative, and fail to accommodate anyone - especially a family of 4 with two children.
Shea, our waitress was phenomenal! I appreciated her apologizing for the general managers behavior. We had a 2 year old with us who she engaged with and told her she was going to make her some delicious ice cream. I hate to rate down the experience for the behavior of the general manager, but I digress. If this is the type of environment Bob creates, for his employees and patrons - I will not be coming back.
Bob, I thoroughly hope that you see this review and attempt to correct your behaviors, that was uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. To the rest of the staff thank you for being phenomenal and apologizing to us and attempting to make our experience great. I appreciate your efforts and you deserve to be...
Read moreJojo's has always been a favorite of mine and my family until recently. On 9/13, I dined INSIDE the restaurant. I had just received my salad, took about four bites when a fly landed in my salad. I swatted at the fly and it flew back out. Thinking there would be no issue; I notified our server Casey (who was excellent by the way) what happened and asked if I could just get a new salad.
She indicated it should not be a problem at all, but she had to send the manager over, by policy. A manager named Jasmine came over and immediately told me "oh there's nothing I can do for you because you ate a lot of the food...so sorry". My friend and I both informed Jasmine that I had just received my food so that was impossible. Jasmine went on to say that she wished she could have seen the bowl when it was first brought out. My friend asked if she could confirm with our server that the bowl was practically holding the same amount as when it was brought out.
Jasmine asked who is your server. I pointed and gave her name. Jasmine instead brings over another person, who I know is the General Manager, Darrel A.
He rudely informed me that nothing was going to be done. He said to me "I mean if the fly flew in and flew right back out, there's really no issue". I was in shock that he made such a statement and told him, if you don't mind eating behind flies, that's your business. However, I do mind because it's nasty and unsanitary. Keep in mind, that I now have two managers at my table as if I am some kind of criminal trying to get a free meal.
I advised both managers that I am not asking for money off, I was hungry, had not eaten all day and just wanted another salad. They just stood there and glared at me. I then asked if I could at least get half of a salad Darrel huffed and said fine, I will give you half. I was provided a salad with two chucks of chicken and mostly lettuce, after paying extra to add chicken. I saw him playing with the salad near the garbage area. I am almost convinced that he dumped part of the salad I initially had and brought it back.
Darrel A. suggesting that I should eat a salad after a fly had been in it was extremely demeaning and disrespectful. I am not a dog and I was a frequent visitor here with my family. Casey was a wonderful server, but Jojo's definitely needs to reevaluate their management and how they treat customers. I am extremely disappointed...
Read moreI saw an event on eventbrite for egg painting and thought it sounded like a fun date night and wow, it was so underwhelming.
We bought tickets for Saturday and then set up the reservation like the details on eventbrite said. So we get there today and they ask what we're celebrating and I tell them we bought the egg painting tickets for today. Our server seemed shocked and demanded to see our tickets. Which like why didn't they check the reservation nor verify beforehand that we had bought tickets?
The manager came by later to say they made a mistake and weren't supposed to sell tickets for the weekend and asked if we really wanted to do the egg painting then. Was I supposed to say, nah we'll come back another day after we drove out here and already paid for parking? What a weird question. Our server later told us that her other manager told her to flat out deny our tickets and say we can use them another day.
The tickets said we'd get some food and a biggie shake. Spoiler alert, you couldn't pick any biggie shake. They gave us 3 options and frankly none of them looked all that great. We got the Jojo fries and mozzarella sticks for apps. They were ok. Nothing super great. Just average.
For the entrees, we got a smash burger and nada burger. I have seen more appetizing burgers at mcdonalds. Also like how are you gonna charge folks like $15 for a single patty burger and not even give them fries?
And then for the shakes, we got the peeps & cream and peep show. The peeps & cream was melting by the time it got to the table. I still don't understand why we couldn't get a biggie shake, you know the thing the tickets said we could get.
Finally for the egg painting, I have no complaints. That was the only part I actually enjoyed. But like we could have gotten applebees and gotten better foods for less money. Like that's how low the bar is.
I get the vibe that this place is really about giving your kids a milkshake and the adults drink something boozy while they munch on apps, which like why have a menu if you don't wanna serve good food?
The only reason this isn't a one star is because our...
