The Grandeur, an epitome of elegance, is an art deco masterpiece that pays meticulous attention to every detail. From the grand lobby adorned with intricate motifs and ceiling freezes to the sumptuous rooms furnished with exquisite style, the hotel transports its guests to the zenith of Detroit's mid-century prime, while offering all the modern amenities expected of a luxury hotel with a full kitchen.
The Restaurant: Within the Grandeur lies a jewel - a restaurant that is a culinary delight and a feast for the senses. The space, an extension of the hotel's art deco aesthetic, is immaculate. Mosaic marble floors, French posters, and brass/copper accents create an ambiance entirely appropriate for a Parisian brasserie, yet distinctly Detroit. The kitchen, a spacious and state-of-the-art facility, churns out spectacular dishes that honor Detroit's French heritage while paying tribute to its mid-century prime.
The Value: Despite its luxurious offerings, The Grandeur provides exceptional value. The hotel and its restaurant have successfully balanced luxury with affordability, making it accessible to both the discerning traveler and the budget-conscious guest. It is a rare find in the heart of Detroit, a city that is reclaiming its former glory with each passing day.
In conclusion, The Grandeur is more than just a hotel; it is a symbol of Detroit's resurgence, a nod to its past, and a beacon of its future. The restaurant within its walls is a culinary journey that pays homage to the city's French roots while celebrating its mid-century heyday. Together, they offer an experience that is luxurious, yet surprisingly affordable, making The Grandeur a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Detroit. Having spent a month here, I love this place, exceptional staff and management made this place...

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Roost Hotel in Detroit. We stayed one night in a Queen Studio and had a very poor experience when it came to rest and comfort.
Noise Issues: From outside, there is constant noise from the air conditioning units on the roof, which sounds like sitting in an airplane. The in-room air conditioning was also very loud, with a strong wind blowing, and it was not adjustable since the control pad is locked with a code.
Light and Layout Problems: The blinds let in too much light, which made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, the bed is positioned awkwardly in a corner, so getting in and out requires climbing over the other person.
Mattress Discomfort: The mattress was very soft and slanted toward the middle, causing us to keep rolling into each other throughout the night.
Positives: The management seems to be thoughtful, and there are some nice, high-quality touches, like great coffee-making facilities, clean rooms, quality soap, and even plants.
Overall Impression: While these thoughtful details are appreciated, they cannot make up for the fundamental design flaws of the room. Whoever designed this hotel seems to have overlooked the essential elements of creating a restful environment. For the price, this experience was highly disappointing, and we would not...
