I had the pleasure of visiting Warda Patisserie and let me tell you, it was an absolutely amazing experience. This patisserie is a gem, run by the incredible female pastry chef from Algeria, Warda, who won the 2022 James Beard award for outstanding pastry chef. From the moment we arrived, Warda was hospitable and friendly, personally greeting us and setting up our table. She even threw in a free madeleine! The service was top-notch and really added to the overall experience. We tried a variety of sweet and savory pastries and they were all outstanding. The flavors were super fresh, vibrant, and balanced, and the presentation was truly beautiful and artistic. We ordered the greek torta, quiche, madeleine, flan, and chocolate entremet, and each one blew our minds. The savory pastries had just the right texture - not too crunchy and not too soft - and the buttery, laminated pastry with fresh and flavorful vegetable fillings was simply divine. The sweet pastries were even more sinful. The entremet was a layered masterpiece with chocolate sponge, nuts, and cream chantilly, all coated in a laminated shell of decadent chocolate. The flan was creamy, light, and fluffy, and every bite was pure heaven. The ambience of the place was fantastic, with a relaxing choice of music and creative, lovely decor. The cleanliness of the patisserie was spotless, and finding street parking was easy. Overall, Warda Patisserie is a must-visit for anyone who loves incredible pastry creations. The quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is simply unbeatable. I give this patisserie a five-star rating and will definitely be returning soon!

Delectable, Dynamic, and Down to earth When you first walk into Warda Patisserie, you are delighted by the salivating smells wafting from the kitchen and the delectable arrangements of pastries, leading your eyes (and stomach) further into the shop. Feasting first, with the eyes, you will notice that the flavor combinations on the pastries are out-of-the-ordinary (with a flavor to match). For example, Ube Flan, Yuzu Mousselline, and Mango Black Sesame Financiers, to name a few. I asked the staff about the inspiration for the flavors and was informed of Warda Bouguettaya's global pastry education. I even had the opportunity to meet her, as she was standing right behind me! For being an award-winning, critically acclaimed chef, her humility and centeredness spoke loudly! I was eager to try these treats and chose an item she recommended: her Ube Flan. It was an excellent balance of flavor, not too sweet, adorned with toasted coconut, and an excellent start to my Saturday. Also, the space, although intimate and close-quarters, was not loud for a Saturday morning. Every table was filled, but people were quick to enjoy their pastries and then get on with the rest of their day. With a friendly and knowledgeable staff, Warda's Patisserie should be a must-go if you are looking for delicious treats, a good way to start the weekend, or an excuse to treat yourself. Anyway, if you are looking for a superb bakery then look no further.

Small pastry shops like this evoke and closely mirror the myriad you'd find throughout the EU. Even the general layout with sidewalk chairs. Compared to average NA pastries, these tend to be lighter, less sweet, and place a greater focus on subtle taste signatures. I was quite pleased even with their drip coffee (IMHO better than some bespoke pour overs), which hard a strong, freshly roasted pour over taste signature. My wife enjoyed a tasty Cortado as well. It’s nice seeing baristas still creating artistic swirls as an end note. The cafe itself is small and seating is geared towards 1-2 only. It’s not really conducive for laptops and general work. It reminds me a lot of a Berlin or Paris cafe where the focus is to relax, watch people, and enjoy coffee & treats. Take a gander, you’ll likely find something to make you smile.
