I'm from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area so I know my hoagies pretty well. I've never been to a Jersey Mike's in NJ. This place would be a lot better if the bread was more authentic. It's missing the chew. Also I don't get who decided to call the chicken cheesesteak hoagie California style - that's never what it's called in NJ. They are also lacking a jersey staple on their menu - which is the cheesesteak hoagie (cheesesteak but with lettuce tomato and onion). I tried to order it many a times and it's always a big miss. My last attempt they actually grilled the 3 strands of lettuce they put on it. However I don't hold that against them, because that's just a bad franchise concept. Same with the high prices. In Jersey the same hoagies would be about $13 instead of $18, and that's a hcol area. Their best sandwich is the Italian Mike's way, which would come close to a sub par hoagie shop in Jersey if it wasn't for the bread being too soft. If they fixed that bread it'd be decent. They might be in trouble when Wawa opens by the interstate. Generally will be less expensive and better hoagies overall (but still not great bread).
As an individually owned franchise tho, this location ain't bad. They handle the lines fairly well. The lack of friendliness to me has always been right on point to the Jersey Mike's branding. For this I...
Read moreGood food, kind workers, I'm in there a lot and they're always nice. As much, since I'm sure they have a bonus system, I want to name off as many of them as possible because they all deserve the appreciation. I've asked many/most of them their names but I don't know if I recall them properly. Regardless, Gavin, Tasha (if I heard her correctly, the manager), Isabelle (I think (I'm questioning myself as I write this) the redhead) The blonde... (I know she told me her name, I don't trust myself to remember it correctly, but I want to say it was Emily or something), Esperanza, Ryan, Wyatt, Tell, and various others have been very helpful and great cooks over the time that I've been eating there. Highly recommend.
PS: Historically I've been told that place is too expensive, and it does cost more than fast food places, but... its not too expensive ($12 cheesesteak) and the vast majority of those sandwiches are as much food as or more food than you'll get at a burger joint. And burger joints don't have root beer and cream soda in their fountain...
Read moreOrdered door dash and did not receive the full meal. I normally would not leave any reviews but I got my order and my mom didn’t get hers. I called the store to let them know and they blamed it on door dash and I normally would think it may be them but they even tried to say that they were out of the brownie we had ordered. And that is one thing but we were still charged it. My mom didn’t receive her sandwich and the bag that we had gotten was unopened. The one who answered the phone said he didn’t make the sandwich and the manager just said that he made it but neither the sandwich nor the brownie were in the bag and it was sealed. Instead of trying to fix the problem they just blamed for dash. & I normally love jersey mikes. I was very disappointed in how the situation...
