Summary: shady business practices, terrible service. AVOID.

Went for lunch. The waiter brought food out and that was it. No refills. No checking in to see if wanted to order more. We kept sitting there waiting for check (because again, no communication from waiter). Finally a different waitress came over and said we pay at register. We go to pay. I’m told my total is $21. I give the waitress my credit card. I get my receipt to fill out and notice that total ISN’T the number given to me. They added more to total without my permission. I asked why was it higher than she told me. She said that is price if you’re paying cash and it’s more if not paying cash. I had cash and said I would like to cancel the transaction then since I had cash. She told me she couldn’t cancel the transaction. So they quoted me one price, added more to my credit card without my permission and wouldn’t cancel my transaction to allow me to pay the total that I was quoted.

Side note: This practice is actually ILLEGAL. The contracts with credit card companies state that you can’t RAISE price because...

Unfortunately, this place is very disorganized and server forget for two hours about my meal( thank goodness she brought the kids food) They act like they don’t understand English and when I spoke to them in Spanish they acted surprised. My daughter in law is Spanish and said they were being racist towards me as a white lady. We arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday and still didn’t get our food by 5:30. We asked for a check and walked out. Be aware/ I even spoke my order in Spanish correctly and the manager said she would check in on the kitchen to find what’s going on, 39 more minutes, no food. I hate to be this person leaving this horribleness review but you should be warned. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area. Save yourself. -update, they responded saying they apologize (very condescending? for being busy, but still waited another half a hour after that hoping they would still bring my food. This isn’t just sorry this is playing games with people and humiliating them in public...

Awful experience. The waitress came and only took half the tables drink order, then whenever she came back she was trying to get our food order but I ordered the drinks for the kids. She brings the kids drinks, but still had not brought one of the adults initial drinks. When we asked her for that drink she rolled her eyes and walked away to go get it. Finally she came back for our order. When our food came out, they forgot one of the kids meals. The female waitress that had originally taken our table was no longer bringing food to us, but another waiter a young man. He was extremely helpful, and I do think that this experience would have gone entirely differently if he had been our waiter. We never heard from our original waitress, she never came back to check on us, or asked if we...

So, on the way home on a random weeknight I was hungry and did what anybody else does - typed in restaurants near me. This taco place came up with good reviews so I figured I’d give it a shot. It has your typical run down ski town type of feel to it, which is why the one star mark down on atmosphere, but it delivered in all other aspects. The tacos came out hot and delicious and the margarita was on point. Probably the best thing was the service as the only guy there was on top of things making sure I was taken care of. Oh, and while I did get chips and salsa when I came in the door the chips weren’t anything to write about and the salsa was super runny. So, a star down there. But overall, I’d happily visit this place again.

We were staying at Keystone skiing this week but desperately needed a trip out of the resort for dinner. We love a great, authentic Mexican restaurant for dinner and decided to try Tacos Tequila Bar & Grill. It did not disappoint! It is certainly an unassuming location and very much a casual atmosphere…but the food is fantastic. I had a breakfast burrito with solid chorizo. Others in our party had fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas - all spot on. The prices are completely reasonable (especially when dropping ski resort money) and the bar is well-equipped for a great meal! I would also add that the house salsa is very good as well as the queso. Overall we had a great experience and think you will too!

Ordered a to-go order of carnitas. While waiting asked if bartender/host/waiter...yes, he was juggling it all, if he could make a margarita like in Mexico. No sugary, nasty mix. It was perfect!! So if you don't like the sweet concoctions, ask for a "skinny". I have had many "skinnys". Not all "skinnys" are alike but this one was spot on. Took me back to my Cabo days. The carnitas were perfectly crispy and flavourful. Not greasy. Well, it is pork, so if you expect totally greaseless, you need to order dry toast. Only thing that would make the food better would be if they had whole pinto beans as an option instead of just refried. But that won't deter me, I'll be back!
