My family and I have been loyal costumers for over 17 plus years to Chimayo's. We absolutely LOVE our Fish Tacos. We eat here almost weekly. This is our go to place to grab a quick and delicious meal, while supporting our locally owned restaurants. It's part of our family. The people working here have ALWAYS been kind and great to us. Service that has all sense changed when a new worker KEVIN joined the team. I have decided to write this review after each time I visit I have recurring issues with KEVIN and only with KEVEN!! He has no manners and does not belong in a kitchen of any sort! I do nott say that lightly. Today I ordered my usual fish tacos, and he never listens on how I ask him to make my food, everything seems to irritate and bother him. Not only can KEVIN not take a simple order, he touches his hair while preparing my food. I have seen him touch trash in the dining area, go back into the kitchen and not wash his hands and start touching tubs filled with food and plates that hold customers food. I speak some Spanish (which I am sure Kevin is unaware of) and today he made very nasty remarks towards me and my party, as well as last week he made remarks and left to the bathroom. He has rolled his eyes every time we enter the establishment, and also while preparing my food. As a family we have decided not to eat here while Kevin is employed as he has really taken the joy of our weekly eat out. Just walking in the door and not feeling welcome. We love to eat here as a family and will return once we no longer have to deal with KEVIN and his poor service! Also I will gladly delete this review once he has moved on...to all the other staff...thank you for your great service! We look forward to being able to continue to enjoy the delicious Fish...
Read moreI grew up going to Chimayo, we lived near Frisco so this was a favorite of ours for many years. I recommend it to everyone, if they’re spending time in Summit County. This was a very unfortunate interaction that the dialogue with the manager was irritating and the service he provided was disappointing.
The actual kitchen staff did an amazing job per usual but they rushed us through allowing the people behind us to finish and pay before handing me my food. I wasn’t asking for much, I’ve been in the service industry for 15 years so I was trying to be quick anyway.
I didn’t get any sauce or toppings for my chicken chimi nor the chile relleno, my dad ordered fish tacos, which didn’t have any sauce either, so I went to ask for the Chimayo sauce after we sat down.
The ‘manager’, Mark, the guy with a fake wrist guard acting like he couldn’t help any of his teammates, doing the schedule during lunch rush, with a bad attitude, told me I had to pay for sauce.
We spent $60 and tipped 20%.. I explained to him I didn’t get any sauce, they were rushing the line through, he got upset with me said I’d still have to pay extra for sauce so my dad went to grab some and Mark was still upset that it needed to be paid for.
On top of that, as a manager, you should be proud to have a place that people seek out and if you’re not let someone else do a hell of a better job.
All the tables are dirty, the trash area to place the trays was filthy, the floors look like they haven’t been swept or mopped. It’s sad to say I won’t recommend it anymore as this interaction makes me embarrassed for other people to have to go through that.
If I could give zero stars for the service and atmosphere, I...
Read moreService here is a joke. First dude greated me with a cold “what’ll you have?” with a slight annoyance to his question. I get it, you just had a good 5 minute conversation(while I patiently waited to order) with your buddy ahead of me about how you haven’t gotten to snowboard much because you work all the time. No big deal, some people just have bad days. Not sure if dude number one was stoned or what because he asked me three times “for here or to go?”, each time getting a little more annoyed. So then it’s on to dude number two who has the (apparently super hard) job of assembling my taco. They must train their employees not to be friendly with anyone, because the first thing out of this jabroni’s mouth was a condescending “what do you want on it?!”. I then explained to him I’m not sure what are my options? Dude number two just points down at the messy tubs of unlabeled toppings with an irritated look on his face. At this point, I probably should have just told them forget it and walked out. To make things even better, they had forgotten what fish I ordered on my tacos and proceeded to switch between GRILLED FISH AND BAJA FISH FOUR TIMES without bothering to ask me what I ordered. I had ordered the Baja Tacos, and they came so saturated with sauce that they were barely edible. The tortilla had a weird stale taste to it, but perhaps it was the lack of personality and good service behind the counter that left a stale taste in my mouth. I used to like this spot, but unfortunately due to rude service and soggy tacos the past few visits, this...
