Carpe Diem: I sat down with the intention to enjoy the best that Sabor Mazatlan had to offer but I was let so disappointed I had needed to send my entre back. My Husband (a native Mexican) and I ordered their top shelf margaritas and they where delivered without the salt we requested. This is normally forgivable, but when you consider the drink is prepared with Patron Silver, Patron Orange, and Agave it was overly sweet. Without the salt the "fresh" lime juice was not enough to balance the flavors. The included photo is of our seafood cocktail as delivered. My first thought was "who ate my shrimp?" Lackluster plating aside, the broth was thin and under seasoned. The crab was was likely from a can, and did not present itself in any recognizable shape. There where specs strewn throughout, but nothing that would make a recognizable bite. The most unsatisfactory aspect was after we explained to our server why the cocktail let us down, a second employee stopped by to inquire further. Instead of contrition he asked what we happened to expect! We had to suffer through an awkward exchange, mentioning that lump crab meat does indeed exist - at 26.00 you should not have to sip bland tomato broth to complete your meal. Instead of an apology and an invitation back for a better experience I left with accusations and the motive to leave one of my few negative reviews. Summit County Colorado is a place that runs on hospitality, and from this and previous experiences I have found Sabor Mazatlan prepared to let their guests down.

We had arroz con pollo and enchiladas. Both dishes were very spicy. Not necessarily a bad thing-just a matter of personal preference and something to be aware of. One strange thing was instead of Mexican rice the arroz con pollo was prepared with steamed white rice. It didn't really detract from the dish-just seemed odd for a Mexican restaurant. Other than the spiciness the dishes were flavorful and plentiful. Another item of note-they recently stopped giving complementary chips and salsa. Not a deal breaker but again, something to be aware of. The overall atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Our server, Mayra, was very good-friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience. Will be back to try out some of their other dishes.

Food was decent. Service not ok what they try to do here. We order a seafood plate called agua chile, the server asked if we wanted a mix with not only shrimp but adding octopus, as heard by the sever that was an option we agreed to have them make a mix. Then when we wanted to place the order for the entree, I asked if it could be mixed shrimp and octopus, it was another sever who said to adding octopus will be an up charge for $12. The other never never mentioned or told us. When they brought the check they added automatic 20% tip gratuity. We told the server we were not very happy and wanted to leave only 15% tip and she got very upset and rude. Very sad this was my first time with them and last.

Went to have dinner with my son after a long day at work. We got Alfredo as a waiter-server. At first he seemed okay. Food was okay, not as good as it once was and is way over priced. I have eaten there several times as a local and it's always been decent. I ordered a Jamaica juice and they charged me $8.00 and had it under horchata, completely different drink. That's outrageous and it was hardly anything to drink. I asked our server for sopapillas and he looked at me and replied rudely Soup? I said no, sopapillas..which I have ordered here several times with a cup of coffee. They may have changed their menu but he clearly had no clue what those even were. He never actually came to our table to check on us. He asked us from behind the counter if we needed something. He was far from attentive to our table. His attitude changed when I asked for the check after our dessert conversation. When he brought the check he tired to tip himself 20% and take control of the visa scanner. I asked for it and with that he got the very low tip he deserved as he stood over me trying to intimate me to tip him better. I will not return or ever recommend this restaurant again. Overall food is okay. Way to over priced. Horrible service. Got to La Perla or Chimayos they offer fresh food and far...

We had horrible service. I ordered a drink and the waitress told me they didn't have a bar. Unfortunately for her the bar was 20' behind her. Either she is really stupid or lying to me. So my daughter walked to the bar and ordered a scotch. Now the waitress walks to our table and says they don't have any scotch. My daughter had just seen it. She walked behind the bar and showed the bartender and our waitress the 3 kinds of scotch they had on the bar shelf. Really shocked at the ineptitude of these folks. Not finished yet,,, then 2 of 3 of our party received their food. I asked twice. The last meal showed up after we had finished eating. So we refused the late taco plate. Another lady approached and demanded payment for the late order we refused. She threatened to call the police. I was hoping she would. We left paying for the food we ate. Really bad dining experience! Food was ok... Service was beyond a bad joke. I would suggest dining elsewhere. We are here on vacation, skiing. Would gladly pay for an expensive dinner. That's what you do right? This is not the...
