Been a regular at multiple Flanigans locations for over a decade and have always wanted to return without hesitation due to the amazing food and usual great service. Unfortunately, after a night my coworkers/friends and I had on 12/01/23 it makes us want to reconsider going (at least to this location) for our next gathering. We ended being a party of 16, and obviously we know this can be a bit hard to accommodate sometimes or more specifically some nights, but this seemed like a casual Friday at Flanigans and it didn’t seem to be as crazy busy as it sometimes is. Initially , we asked for a table for 10 and that we’d be expecting more people to join but weren’t sure how many (usually not a problem in any location). Our table for 10 was ready and after maybe 15 mins or so our entire party was present. We let the hostess and our server know about the situation and they gave us a wait time for a table to be available (not a problem). The guests remaining to be seated decided to get drinks at the bar while they wait.Ultimately, we were forgotten about after at least 40 minutes and started seeing the tables next to us clearing out. Besides the whole seating issue which can be understood. What had all of us completely baffled was the lack of service/attention we got. Our server never grabbed our drink orders, we basically had to each wave him down to let him know what we wanted to drink, same with the food. We started with 3 pitchers of beer that seemed they would never arrive. When our remaining guests joined us at our now available table extension, they had another server assigned to them which we were all hoping would be better, unfortunately that was not the case. Being that a couple of us that attended had some past experience as servers we just couldn’t believe the lack of attention for such a large party, which usually signifies good business and opportunity for gratuity. Our guess was that flanigans was probably paying them a bit too much for them to care or seek more. I asked about a specific shot to see if the bar could make it and after about at least 25 minutes of standing right behind us at the PoS system just chatting away, I asked about the shot and she simply tells me that the shot can’t be made because of the price that it would come out to be, which would’ve been nice to know as soon as she was informed, if she ever even bothered to ask. Mind you, the restaurant did not seem to be busy at all at certain points. There was a manager in the dining area as well with a red shirt on who seemed to just be pacing. Didn’t bother approaching the table to see how everything was or if we needed anything, NOTHING. Which I found this a bit odd because the managers usually do, I remember a gentleman named Richard always doing this. Our server ended up coming around and giving us each our tabs which most of us never asked for which is the worse feeling when you’re trying to share a night with friends. Eventually the vibe we got from all the staff was that we were basically cut off without being cut off after only 1 or 2 rounds of drinks and they were just waiting for us to finally give up and leave. Couldn’t even get a soda or water refill. Most of our party left after the horrible service and 4 of us remained, we hoped this would result in maybe getting better attention (we were wrong) they didn’t bother cleaning the empty table or remains of our party. Our food came out promptly and was great, no complaints there. Flanigans will forever be a great place to be and typically is THE place to be in SFL especially with friends, that is why these moments need to be acknowledged so that this great place doesn’t go to sh*t. Shout out to Tammy also in the grove! Definitely a highlight to The...
Read moreThe customer service at Flanigan's was absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. We were seated at 5:30 pm, and when the waitress came to take our order, there was no greeting or any attempt to engage in conversation. After placing our order, she inquired if we wanted anything else, and when our wings arrived, we realized there were no plates, napkins, utensils, sauces, or drinks. It took 15 minutes for her to return and ask if we needed anything else, and when informed about the missing items, her response was, "Wow, they didn't bring it to you?"
Later on, she asked if we need anything else, but as we declined at the moment, she mentioned that her shift had ended over 30 minutes ago, holding the receipt, and offered to close the tab. We requested to transfer the tab to a new server, Samantha's shift ended so did our interaction.
The new server, Sheyla, introduced herself and asked if we needed anything. We requested a cup of ice for our drinks. After bringing the ice, there was no further interaction for an hour and five minutes. When she finally returned, we asked for the bill and a manager.
Manager Aaron arrived, and we explained the service issues and specific problems like the ribs being under and overcooked. Instead of addressing the concerns, Aaron made a random sneeze gestures to elongate the conversation on 2 occasions and asked for specific details. When we offered to show him the leftover ribs as proof, he declined but took the bill. Upon return, he removed the cost of the ribs. Despite expressing that our concern was more about the customer service than the cost, Aaron did not seem to concerned. We mentioned that the Coconut grove location is not like this and they are great Aaron responded that they are franchised and not here to discuss other stores, he was very dismissive.
In summary, this Flanigan's location is not recommended for those seeking good service. Consider visiting the Coconut Grove location for better treatment as a paying customer. This experience highlights the need for upper management to improve the hiring and training process to avoid employing unresponsive and...
Read moreLet's just start off by saying that i love Flanigan's.. every one that I've ever been to, and that's most of them. The experience was always great.. until now. It was a Wednesday night, and like most nights, the place was packed. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated, and now i know why. We were seated in a dining room full of very loud, swearing drunks that were apparently having " a party". It was ridiculously loud, to the point that we couldn't have any kind of a conversation at our table without shouting. The two couples behind us were having the same problem and were also upset. We called our server over and asked her how this was acceptable, and she agreed with us. She said she couldn't take customer's orders because of the loud yelling. We observed a group of eight being seated in the back of the room, and after a few minutes of this abuse, they got up and left. Another family with a young child, maybe 3 years old, had to get up and leave before they finished their meal because the child was crying non- stop, i would suspect because of the very loud yelling. Our server asked if we would like to speak to a manager, to which i said yes. After about 10 minutes the manager finally showed up, and asked what our problem was . OUR problem? I asked him if he thought the yelling and swearing was acceptable, and he said that he didn't notice that it was excessively loud! Are you kidding me !!!! We could barely have a conversation with him without yelling. This manager didn't seem to give a darn about how we felt, or that his server was also upset about the inappropriate behavior, or that 8 people walked out rather than subject themselves to this abuse. Very, very unbecoming of a restaurant manager, especially a manager for such a customer service friendly company like Flanigan's. Needless to say, with other Flanigan's options available, we will not be patronizing this restaurant again. I doubt this manager will...
