Cozy atmosphere, very attentive staff and delicious food. Plenty of open parking but the restaurant is in a shopping center with little lighting so it was a bit hard to find at first.
We ordered manchego cheese and pancetta croquettes which my brother loved (a bit salty for me- best eaten with some bread), fried calamari (light batter but no seasoning), escargot in capped mushroom (most people liked it), parillada thin sausage (ok).
For main dishes we had pear salad, mussels, rib eye (very tasty), filet mignon, lobster ravioli, and seafood pasta (linguini pescador) both in white wine sauce and one in marinara sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
I had the pasta which was perfect al dente but the meal was more broth so the seafood was a bit softer than I would like. I was expecting more of a stir pasta but it was good.
Then we all shared dessert of tiramisu (the favorite of all), apple crepes, dulce de leche crepe, Chaja (sponge cake with peaches and dulce de leche) and flan (least favorite).
Everyone was wonderful but best feature was the staff. We got fresh oven baked bread after we finished the first batch and the server kept pouring the water in front of my baby nephew (because he is fascinated by water - he is 1 years old after all) and then taking the glass to the corresponding recipient (which I found sweet that he wanted to entertain a baby).
The meal ended up almost $400 among 6 people so it’s a bit pricy but we were celebrating a birthday in a steak house.
My mom picked it over her usual favorite restaurant which is high praise. I thought everything was lovely.
Just went again with my mom and her friend and we tried the crab croquettes (real crab meat but wasn’t my favorite) and we had rib eye and short ribs. All were delicious and loved the seasoning (wanted to lick all the bones off my short ribs but was so full). Definitely the best steak house so far since most places don’t have well seasoned meats (most places just dry rub on the surface). The short rib was cut differently so it looked like 3 pieces of pork chops but it’s was so yummy.
We also had mussels in white wine sauce and it was flavorful and plump juicy. I recommend asking for extra dinner rolls for the manchego cheese and pancetta croquettes because it is a bit salty on its own. Overall experience is great, ambience is lively, food is delicious and service is wonderful. Bathrooms are super clean and spacious despite being only two...
Read moreWent to Manny's Wood Grill recently with a party of six. It was my first time there and found it a little odd that it is so expensive for being such a small place located inside of a strip mall. My overall experience was GOOD, but there are way to many options in this category (steak house) and at this price point.
We had made reservations and although there was some initial confusion, we were seated promptly. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We all ordered Lobster bisque (VERY GOOD) and per the waitress's recommendation the fried shrimp & calamari which we got two orders. It was "OK" but we should have gotten one and tried another appetizer.
We all ordered some cut of steak; filet, churrasco and veal. My churrasco was very good, cooked to my taste and good flavor and texture. Unfortunately, the side of mash potatoes' and salad (which I think was a garnishing) were on the small side and not properly portioned to the meat. One of our friends ordered the risotto, which was extremely salty and she could not eat it.
We shared two deserts, which were GOOD. The Tiramisu was on point and the waitress recommended a peach desert from Uruguay, but I though this place was Argentinian? This desert was lite, but had very little peach flavoring... Again, we should have ordered another desert to try out.
One of the main issues we had was temperature of the place, it was "HOT" and they even had a portable A/C unit by the door which looked like R2D2? Additionally, it is a small cramped place and we were seated by the "Point-of-sale" area where credit cards are transacted, so there was always someone bumping into us or standing over us... I didn't care for this especially when we are talking about; family matters, finances, investments, politics, upcoming...
Read moreWhere do I start… First of all, this place is classified as a steakhouse but has no steakhouse ambiance. You are sitting basically on top of the people next to you like a cafeteria. Why would they have steak with no price at a place like this ??? Fathers Day.. I felt so bad for my husband yesterday eating the sirloin that he ordered. He didn’t even tell me and kept eating until finally I tasted it. Very cheap meat they give you with fat everywhere. I tried to chew a piece and it was so hard to chew and swallow like rubber with no flavor ! I had to literally continue to chew. How can they serve something like that. They also only have beer and wine. They don’t serve any alcoholic drinks. They have gratuity automatically included like they are some high end restaurant, or somewhere in Miami Beach. They are literally in a plaza with one stall for their bathroom! I ordered pasta and he ordered a sirloin. The bill was over 100 dollars. The best part of this review is that not only was everything horrible but our stomachs are so messed up! We have been constant going to the bathroom from the food. So disappointed!
Regarding your response below 👇 I never said that the sirloin was not priced I was referring to the ones that aren’t as if we are at a high end restaurant. As far as the sirloin we absolutely never ask for it well done and we didn’t. That sirloin had no flavor, and was so rubbery and full of fat because it was cheap meat. Yes we ordered the sirloin, pasta and an appetizer that was also terrible…. Did you also overlook my comment about how the food messed up our...
