Decent Spanish food but if they got anything right the first time when you order to-go, it’d be a miracle. This is now multiple occasions (3+) some or all of my order is messed up. I ordered 2 shrimp quesadillas for my wife and I. They have a menu item #38 called “Shrimp Quesadilla”. It’s a good size meal with rice and beans and so on. When I went to pick up the meal, the price seemed low. I brought it up to the man taking my payment. He read my order to me as two shrimp quesadillas. Sounded right so I went with it thinking maybe they were on special Sundays. When I got home, among my kids food, were two shrimp tacos, they claim were quesadillas, though they aren’t closed or cut. When I called back, the person on the phone told me he rang in “side orders of shrimp quesadillas” and “I had to specify what kind of shrimp quesadillas I wanted”… Then why is there a menu item just called “Shrimp Quesadillas” on your menu. Also, why would anyone just automatically assume you want a side order. If you’re not sure, just ask. The gentleman refused to give me a refund on the first quesadilla mishap because I “didn’t bring them back in for the manager.” That’s a ServSafe violation. In my 4 or so years in restaurants, I was always told we cannot take back food that has left our building. Then claimed he was doing me a favor by making one of the quesadillas free, when the two side orders was the same price anyway. When I asked another employee for a manager, they pointed at the same guy I was already talking with. So, now I’m being told the guy can’t give me a refund cause I didn’t bring in food for the manager, but another person is telling me he’s the manager? Interesting. The customer is never right at this Rodeo location, but apparently, the staff isn’t either when you order take out. If that was my restaurant, I’d be genuinely embarrassed my staff is making assumptions on behalf of the customer instead of clarifying, telling the customer it’s their fault for not being specific, not refunding a mistake my employee made, and then lied to a customer about who the manager is when they just want some...
Read moreFood has always been good here and the Margaritas too with great prices. Unfortunately, I will not spend another dime of my hard earned money at this establishment. Arrived before 5pm for a group gathering that usually consists of 5 or 6 but tonight we needed seating for 8. We were told none of us could be seated until everyone arrived. We then asked if we could have a table for 2 until everyone else arrived and we were promptly told no. Now mind you, when it was 6 of us we didn't have to wait for the others to arrive and we were seated to enjoy chips, salsa and beverages. Not tonight. The 2 of us that arrived early get off work about 30 minutes before the others joining us and all we wanted was to wait with chips, salsa and a Margarita. Despite good food, drinks and atmosphere the customer service is lacking. I won't spend my money at a business that has ZERO customer service.
Ok, need to update my review since I spoke with the party that remained after I left. It ended up being 12 guests but half were there waiting. They did ask to be seated since half were there and they were told no again. They did finally get taken to a private room that apparently had an odor and the server didn't even bother turning on all the lights. The manager or assistant manager disappeared and did not show his face again. The server told one of the guests that he hoped the next time she came in to eat she was not as rude as she was this evening. All she did was ask to be seated when half the party had arrived. After that comment the entire party left and went to Hacienda Azul where they were greeted, PROMPTLY seated and had a lovely dining experience. Please keep in mind that although I will never step foot into this location, I will still continue to dine at the other locations. From all the others that I have spoken to that stayed until the night got worse, they will not be going here...
Read moreJust moved here last year, and being the no-account Texican that I am, have been looking for a good Tex-Mex spot when we occasionally drive from where we live in the Florida panhandle into Dothan for dinner. We had driven by this place and noticed lots of cars in the parking lot and decided to give it a try.
Bingo! Ate here January 2019 on a Thursday night with my wife, and we had a superb meal. Food was excellent, service was also excellent. I had one of the very best chicken taco salads I've ever had, with nicely grilled chicken and fresh ingredients beautifully served up in a large flour tortilla bow. (It's hard to get fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes and cilanto in January.) My wife was just as impressed with her meal. "Wow" she said.
Service was also excellent. We were immediately seated, our drink order was taken and delivered, we ordered our food, and in under ten minutes, we said our prayer and started to chow down. The staff ensured we were happy, repeatedly offered to refill our tea glasses, and were friendly and attentive. Prices were right in line with where they should be, perhaps even a bit less than I'm used to seeing.
My wife and I have a new favorite when we come into...
