Long story short: (original draft exceeded the character limit).
After being seated, the male waiter informs the prices are wrong on the menu as they have increased and he will tell me the price of the items. I started with saying I wanted 1 taco and he said I had to order 3 (although 1 taco is on the original menu). I did not budget from lunch menu items and going back and forth on prices and being rushed to order although their menu is not up to date (I was the only other table in the restaurant). I decided I wanted my salsa and queso to go.
The hostess came and brought me a to go box, which I put my salsa chips in, and two smaller boxes for the salsa and queso. The male waiter comes back and says I can pay at the front and the says “I will get other chips for you” and takes my chips already in my to go box. I say no that’s okay. And he says “no no I will get you more chips” and walks away. I say louder to the point where the other table can hear me because they look up “i do not want new chips, I want those chips”. He ignores me and walks away. Which is wild because if you are increasing prices because of inflation, why would you waste perfectly good salsa chips to bring me other chips. My conclusion went to the worst, that something was done to those chips, so I left them on the table without touching them. That made no sense and I was not about to eat whatever else he COULD have added to those chips. I checked out at the front and he comes out from the back and says “You know, we just work here. Our boss makes the rules”. I just said “Thank you” and paid my bill and left because for him to come to the conclusion that I was upset at him for the price changes instead of his extremely poor customer service skills was too much energy for me to continue to put out into that place.
Sir, if I’m handed a menu, and the price I will be charged is different than what is on that menu, that is illegal.
Which at first, I would have been fine with. I was not upset at you for the price change. I just didn’t want to pay it on top of going back and forth on prices. I didn’t want to, and I have that right to say no, and leave after paying what DID receive. We all have experienced inflation and increasing prices is the norm (still illegal to print the prices and verbally tell the customers it will be different and charge them a different price). I was not upset at the price change. I did not want to keep asking about prices (because I budgeted my meal for the day and selected the items based on the menu, and chose to eat during that time because it was lunch time and the prices were cheaper). If a customer does not want to pay more than what they budgeted for, and wants to pay for what they have already ordered and leave, why is that a personal attack on you, sir? Then for you to add that it is the boss not you, no sir. The extremely poor experience and rating is 100000% on you. I could have paid for my salsa and cheese and left and went to another restaurant (and not ordered salsa and cheese) but instead you made it so much worse by your poor customer service and taking my chips and bringing new ones. Who does that? That solidified I made the correct decision to leave.
From the other reviews, I do not understand why I received the service I did. Why does everyone else get good customer service and I get the opposite? Maybe he was having a bad day? A previous customer was rude when told about the price change? Or maybe it is because of how I look? I have never felt like a restaurant just blatantly did not want me in their store or back like how I felt today at this restaurant. I hope no one else feels this way by this restaurant again and that it is a one off because this experience was very unpleasant. I also 100% believe that he put something in that second set of chips. What could possibly be the other reason?
Update: After looking at the majority of the names from the 1 star reviews. I see why I was treated this way. It is 2025. They do...
Read moreSo I’ve driven past this place numerous of times but I recently went and seen that they did $2 tacos and margaritas on Tuesdays, so this Tuesday that just passed me and my sister decided to go there to have lunch when we went we weren’t immediately greeted when we were greeted it was by a woman that just pointed to a table for us to sit at did not bring us any silverware and did not offer us anything to drink when our waiter came. I think he may have been the owner, but did not want anyone to know he was the owner, but I believe he was the owner because everyone was reporting back to him that was working there. When we sat down, he greeted us and wanted us to order double shot margaritas which were four dollars which wouldn’t have been a problem but it was the forcefulness so we decided that we would just get the two dollar one and we also decided we were going to get tacos as well. We got three tacos each, when we were eating our food no one ever brought us silverware or napkins. He was very pushy about us getting double shot margaritas. He even told us that we should get a pitcher and he would give us a discount if we got the pitcher my sister doesn’t drink like that and I kept trying to let him know that she doesn’t drink that much and I don’t drink that much as well so we didn’t need a pitcher of Margarita he brought us back our margaritas. Mine was half full cup with like two cubes of ice. My sisters frozen. We asked for chips and salsa which is not complementary here, and we also asked for limes and sauce for our tacos, and he just pointed us to a sauce bar and did not let us know, until after we sat down with our sauces that there were only one per order for sauce, as we were in the middle of our meal he came over to our table and told us to hurry up and pay for our tab so that he could go ahead and take his break. I asked him if he could leave the receipt he refused. He pointed out each individual item on the receipt and told us the price and included his own tip into the price of our tab, he did not ask us if we were on the same tab and pointed to the register and told us to go up there when we were ready to pay all in all the experience and customer service was very bad zero out of 10 would...
Read moreI just thought I’ll share my experience with you guys from this restaurant. I left my son game feeling good and we decided to go out and have Mexican otw home to celebrate his first middle school game (he’s in the band) we stop at this restaurant and it’s looks close; there’s not a single soul inside my son was skeptical but I was like good because I don’t like a lot of people anyway. We order and besides the fact we’re absolutely the only patrons the food takes a pretty good while to get ready. We finally get food and it’s all pretty bland. My son ordered tacos but was told about 15 mins after we ordered they were out of beef so he substituted for shredded chicken. He barely ate them as he said they had absolutely no taste just as the Texas fajitas I ordered. Nothing was flavorful not even the peppers it was just grilled with splashes of water it seemed. I asked for the check and this is when it seemed everything went left. The waiter didn’t want to bring it to my table then when I received it it was a piece of notebook paper with scribble and numbers and a small register receipt but NONE of the prices matched ANY of the food or drinks we ordered. I asked the waiter about it and he explained prices had increased since the menus had been made then he said he apologized and adjusted the price of 1 of my items because he stated it was actually over priced over the changed prices. I gave him my card and just said to myself it was ok I would just not patronize this restaurant again. While waiting for my receipt to sign someone came from the back stating the prices were subject to change and they were labeling all menus and because I didn’t get one of those labeled it was not his fault, the prices were only a few dollars change so it shouldn’t matter and I should pay with no issue! My night seriously went from a joyous congregation moment of my son 1st middle school game to a what in world is going on moment when the employee came from the back arguing to justify our overpriced tacos and fajitas. $50 that’ll never be spent here again…. Beware if you chose to eat here the food’s not very good and the customer service...
