I was enthusiastic about tasting the food since I’ve limited where I eat during the pandemic. I gave it a 4/5 because two family members enjoyed their food- the shrimp roti and the curried chicken. I got to taste their food and wasn’t impressed. There were uncooked grains of rice; the beans were a bit too hard, the chicken was dry, the fish tough, and had too much seasoning to make out the taste of fish; the roti was filling was unusual for me since, in the Caribbean, the usual stuffing is boiled potatoes, meat, and the curried seasoning. Plus some flour to thicken the curry sauce. Beware if you’ve not traveled to the Caribbean and had chicken roti. Their chicken is not deboned for the roti. The seasoning had too much nutmeg in them. Therefore, the dishes tasted more or less the same - jerk seasoning with an exceptionally overpowering nutmeg amount. The plantains had not reached the perfect overall level of ripeness. The center was a bit hard. I can say that the oxtail was decent, 8/10. The seasoning clung to the meat. That a plus and a negative. Plus, it was pleasantly flavorful, but hard to get any of that seasoning/gravy on the rice. Their restaurant brand of hot sauce is delicious. I prefer it a bit thick, but that’s no reflection on the flavor. I plan on going back. I’ll update this post if not create a new one. Sometimes life happens that the food doesn’t taste 💯. Regarding the “ratchet” reviews- the portions are perfect. There’s food enough to save for the next day. Pandemic Alert- Common sense informs the logical person to use the drive-thru for pickup during a pandemic. It’s called risk reduction. I went to Red Lobster in Douglasville and it was begging people to catch COVID on site.

I don’t even know where to begin. I ate here years ago back in 2014 I believe and the food taste nothing like how it tasted back then. The curry goat that I ordered was for a dine in. Thank goodness because to my surprise the meat was tuff and hard to chew. Everyone from the Caribbean knows that goat meat takes time to cook down this wasn’t the case. I tried deal with it then I realized that I would be wasting money. So I went up to the counter and explained my experience with the meat. They asked if I would prefer another item on the menu. So I asked for the curry chicken. I’m from the islands myself and I lived in NYC all my life. I’ve visited many Jamaican/ Caribbean restaurants and this cook that is at this location can’t be from Jamaica or any where from the West Indies because the seasoning is was off. But don’t take my word for it let your own experience be the judge. The small curry goat came out to $25 which wasn’t on the menu. Then with the drink $30.98 to be exact. I’m sorry but this ain’t the hole in the wall that you want thumbs down for me

FALSE ADVERTISING !!!!!! I came here on my lunch break after seeing ON THEIR WEBSITE that they do “Medical Mondays” where the lunch specials are buy one get one free for medical professionals. When trying to order the server notified me that she had no clue what I’m talking about. I pulled up the website and showed her where it was advertised. She told me they’ve never done that but she would check with someone to see if she can honor it. I sat there while they dealt with other customers then they finally told me the advertisement was old and they hadn’t done medical Mondays in a long time. Which is fine but it shouldn’t be advertised on the website. Especially since I came there specifically for that! I’m not sure when the last time they updated their website but if there are specials on there that you no longer offer, it should be taken down. I felt like they should’ve honored the special simply because it was their mistake. Very disappointed that I had to sit here my whole lunch waiting on an answer only to not be able to get lunch at all.

First impression upon arrival was that the parking lot/exterior could benefit from landscaping and thorough cleaning. The connection of an emissions place to the restaurant seemed unusual, but it did not deter me from trying their food.

Inside the restaurant, I noticed that it was on the smaller side and appeared cluttered with speakers in the dining area. It seemed like the sound system would provide a good music experience when in use.

The alcoholic drinks at the restaurant were quite enjoyable. However, my wife and I were extremely disappointed with the food. While I initially wanted to try their curry chicken, I was dissuaded by the description of the oxtails. Ultimately, my wife ordered the jerk chicken.

The oxtails turned out to be hard, fatty, flavorless, and rubbery, making them the worst oxtails I have ever tasted. My wife's jerk chicken was overcooked and extremely dry, with a level of spiciness that even exceeded my preference for spicy food. The cabbage, which included green beans, corn, and peas, was a unique combination but lacked flavor. Additionally, the plantains appeared enticingly glossy but were unfortunately greasy when bitten into.

Despite our disappointment with the food, our server was very pleasant. In a polite manner, we requested to-go boxes, enjoyed our drinks, and decided to distribute our meals to two homeless couples instead of discarding them.

In the future, when searching for Jamaican restaurants, I will be more attentive to any red flags and trust my...
