In fall 2018 I was on a project in the northeast traveling between Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. For those of you from the south like me, you often don't realize how beautiful it is driving in the NE with all the changing colors and little towns that you pass through. One other beautiful thing about these little towns is that they can have awesome food. One of these places is bubbys bagel and deli a random place in Portsmouth, NH I visited after a long and final project week heading to the airport. It was there that I had one of the best meals I've ever had. I ordered eggs Benedict with corned beef hash on top of Latkes - here's a play by play: 1. Latkes - can you guys believe this was my first time having Latkes? They're delicious potato goodness 2. Corned beef - super tasty just as you'd expect of a Jewish deli 3. Eggs Benedict - incredibly tasty, eggs perfectly poached Sadly this location is closed but it appears that they've opened another one in Dover, NH if you want to visit - which I highly recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Bubby’s Bagels at the Dover Amtrak Station proves you don’t need a ticket to ride—you just need caffeine and a muffin. I tried a peppermint iced coffee that tasted like Christmas clocked in early, followed by a salted caramel so smooth it could sweet-talk a parking meter. Greg (pretty sure that’s his name, but if not, he deserves the title anyway) was outrageously pleasant—basically customer service with a personality. The atmosphere? Comfortable enough that you forget you’re next to a train station. The staff? Friendly enough that you’ll want to come back even if you’re not hungry. The muffins? Absolutely dangerous—I meant to take a bite and accidentally auditioned for ‘Disappearing Act: Bakery Edition.’ They also serve sandwiches, which I didn’t get a chance to try this time, but if they’re anything like the coffee and muffins, I may need a season pass. If you’re in Dover and skip Bubby’s, you didn’t just miss a train—you missed joy in edible form.”

Sydney helped me and she was brilliant! The "Spicy" breakfast sandwich is an excellent morning wake up consisting of jalapeno bagel, pastrami, egg, Swiss, jalapenos, chipotle mayo. They also have vegetarian items another pastrami bagel sandwich, hash browns, doughnuts, and other sides! The dark roast coffee was hot and fresh! Amazing breakfast pick in downtown Dover, within walking distance of Central Ave.

The Enigmatic Bagel Bonanza of Dover's Hidden Gem

Hello fellow food adventurers and bagel aficionados! Gather 'round the digital bonfire of the Internet as I spin you a yarn about a peculiar little nook nestled in the heart of Dover, New Hampshire. Yes, it’s a bagel shop that will take you on a whimsical ride through flavor town, with a side of sass that can only be described as uniquely charming… if you’re not faint of heart.

Venture with me to the enchanting locale of Dover’s train station. There, amid the hustle, bustle, and occasional screech of metal on metal, lies a small, unassuming bagel haven where dreams are crafted one perfect, doughy ring at a time. Picture this: an olfactory smorgasbord of fresh-baked goodness meets you as you descend the steps—no GPS needed, folks, just follow your nose!

But wait! Before we embark on our sentient carb quest, we must address the elephant in the bagel shop. Enter, the owner: a purveyor of the finest bagels, who also doubles as a riddle wrapped in cranky outerwear. Yes, dear readers, he’s a bit of a sourdough—the kind of brash individual whose personality seems more akin to a sour pickled rye than a sweet cinnamon raisin. But hold that judgment, for like any good sour, it pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the bagels themselves! You’ll come for the bagels, and stay for the… colorful experience.

Now, to the shining stars of this story—the bagels. These are not mere circles of bread—no, they are the culinary alchemy of flour, water, yeast, and pure consistency. With a crusty bite that sings under your teeth, and a soft, chewy interior that dances on your taste buds, they deserve a sonnet, nay an epic, in their honor.

And the variety! Oh, the glorious assortment! From your classic sesame and poppy seed to the audacious jalapeño cheddar and the sweet siren song of blueberry, there’s not a single dull ring in the bunch. Pair them with the cream cheese that is whipped to perection, or opt for a bagel sandwich that defies lunch norms and propels you into a state of gastronomic euphoria.

For the connoisseurs of life, each bite is punctuated with the soundtrack of a bustling station, an unexpected but somehow perfect accompaniment to the sensory delight unfolding within. You, my friends, are a part of Dover’s secret society at this peculiar establishment, a realm where bagels are king and time feels delightfully warped.

So if you find yourself wandering through Dover, New Hampshire, follow the scent of freshly baked bliss and let your senses guide you to the train station. And when you’re there, savor the creation that hands down houses the best bagels in town. Be sure to drop my name—Crazy Jimmy—and spread the word about this TikTok tale, replete with untouched truths and flour-dusted humor.

Before we part ways, here’s a digital bouquet of hashtags because every epic needs its runes: #Bagel #DoverNewHampshire #BestBagelsInTown #TrainStation #YummyIndeed #SourdoughSaga #PoppySeedPower #SaltySweetMagic #BagelAlchemy #FlavorTimeMachine #BagelLife #BagelBoss #SwirlingSatisfaction #CarbQuest #YeastMastery #EpicureanDelight #HumorInCarbs #RingOfJoy #MorningMagic #BakeMyDay #DoughInTheDark #CrunchyChewyPerfection #BagelSlayer #BoutiqueBagels #NewEnglandEats #PastryParadise #UnlikelyCharm #LocalTreasure #AllTheFeels #ButFirstBagels.

Until our next improbable escapade, keep your bagel toasted and your stories a little crispy...

Aright so I'm admittedly picky when it comes to chicken salad. I'm from the south and I believe some things belong in chicken salad and other things do not... like Grapes... yuck... So I went in to check it out and was about to order a Turkey BLT when I told the person assisting me, Greg, that I really wanted to try the Chicken Salad but you know... I'm picky. He let me know that its a simple Chicken Salad with celery mayo and spices. I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! It was definitely really good! So good in fact that I called him after devouring said sandwich to tell him he did not disappoint and I would be leaving a good review! (I never do this).

Overall not only was the sandwich on point but his customer service was awesome as well. He was talking and joking with me as if we had been friends for a long time. Much appreciated, good customer skills like that are hard to come by nowadays. I have been looking for a regular lunch spot since I work right around the corner and I think I just found it! Looking forward to trying more things on the menu but definitely coming back for the Chicken Salad! Well...
