Mommom's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Dover

I've seen the raving reviews on Facebook and figured Id make the trip with my husband and 2 boys. We got there and we were greated. We did look around to see what was offered as we've never been before. There were 2 guys working and we were told if we wanted to sample something to just let them know. We finally get to ordering and that's when things started going downhill for us. I ordered a kid scoop of cotton candy and was given Superman. My 5 yr old was the one who noticed it was wrong, I let the guy know and he fixed that. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie for myself the guy taking my order said okay walked to make it and then came back and asked me what flavor I wanted. I said strawberry banana and asked if it was ok to get both flavors the other guy working said yes. They both went back to make it. Once it was placed on the counter I noticed the pale yellow color but assumed it was correct. Once taking a drink I noticed it definitely did not taste like it had any strawberry at all in it. Proceed to my husbands order he ordered the create you're own Sunday he asked for his 3 scoops and said His topping would be rainbow sprinkles still expecting the whipped cream on the side. After the guy came back and asked about the chocolate sprinkles and my husband corrected him and said it was rainbow. Overall as a first time experience it wasn't the best, the cashier ringing us up seemed more confused than we were and it was again the first time we've ever been there. I can only assume he was new but everything we ordered ended up having something wrong even if it was minimal having all 3 orders have an error with it was a bit disappointing. $16.55 later we let our 5 yr old and 1 yr old enjoy their ice cream and once we left we went to wawa to get a strawberry banana...

Back in Delaware visiting my mom since she just bought a new house . She mentioned seeing this establishment as she was house searching and wanted to try it. Tonight we let time get away from us and I did the dash to get there by 8:53pm they did close at 9. As I came inside I stated I was sorry I literally sped here to try to get here before you guys closed …. Before I could finish a young female employee with brown/blonde hair on top and black underneath didn’t even let me finish my statement said what do you want to order, what do you want to get . Her tone is what set me off . I came in understanding that I was pushing it coming in late but we live 6 hrs away and was helping my mother move in and wanted a good night treat. The other employees I could see on their faces ( young man mopping , one cleaning the other case and another girl possibly a friend in regular clothes behind the counter . Now I totally get the frustration of last minute customers . But I came in happy and sympathetic that I was so late . The experience honestly made me not purchase anything from you guys . Perception is everything from a customer standpoint point as a manger working in customer service for 8 years … my mom liked the pretzel ice cream and the coffee Oreo bite I did get was pretty tasty and my daughter tore up her chocolate ice cream. I am personally working on myself so glad I didn’t react how I would’ve 6 months ago. Next time I’ll come at a better time hopefully for a better experience for...

SUCHHH a hidden gem! Though there is certainly a vast assortment of great Hershey's Ice Cream flavors, what sets MomMom's apart are their incredibly indulgent and often unconventional homemade flavors (Coffee Oreo, Pretzel Salad, and Black Raspberry Peach to name a few). They cycle through these homemade flavors regularly and often create some fantastic seasonal options (even going so far as to source fruits from another local favorite, Fifer's Orchard), so you're bound to come across something new (or return to an old favorite) before you know it!

I lived in Delaware for over three years, and MomMom's by far and away offered the best value for my dollar. Though I now live two hours away, I still make the occasional trip to Dover and always pack a cooler to bring some frozen pints back home!
