Being from Texas my wife and I have been scouring for good Mexican food and we believe we've found it at El Nopal 617 E Lockerman St Dover. We were greeted and seated right away and within 5 minutes we had our drinks; Our waitress was super polite the whole time and was very accommodating. Within 8 minutes we had the freshest salsa (not spicy) and nice, crispy, fresh chips; I will add that the salsa has Pico in it so if that's not your taste, you can ask for it without when they are taking your drink order. They also have a small spicy salsa and mild verde that comes out with it (you can also order queso dip as well). Now onto the main course: My wife ordered the tamales (pork cooked in a banana leaf) they were super soft and flavorful (wife 10/10 and she is picky with Tamales xD). She also got the steak tacos, Mexican style (cilantro and white onion), that come with corn tortillas and limes, its flavor very fresh and the steak was cooked perfect. I got the pork tacos American style (lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and american cheese) on a flour tortilla; The pork was seasoned to perfection 👌 and it was loaded with meat, lettuce, sour cream and cheese. It was very good! Now here's the best part, for four tacos and two tamales with 3 drinks and queso (the salsa was complimentary) it was 37 dollars with some change; Not bad at all for all that food huh? They are family owned and operated ( I even saw the owner walk through lol) so go check them out and see if they become a new...
Read moreWell, it was definitely an experience. It wasn't the worst, but it definitely wasn't great either. They now have their liquor license. But don't know what white wine is or blanco. I asked our initial waitress for some queso and she said no, we have salsa. I thought baby. It was bad communication on my part, but I was there having a business meeting? So my business partner stated to the next person. That came over to our table that we would like some k. So we then received it. However, it was super thick because it was warm. I'm not gonna super get into it. However, we ended up with 3 separate servers. Everything that we ordered was just a bit off. Be it either in seasoning or the style in which it came out so. If you're a person that doesn't like a lot of seasoning and spices. Doesn't want to be worried about if you're gonna have heart burn later. This is absolutely the restaurant for you. I provided several pictures, but let's just say the pineapple is going home with me. Basically the way. It came out so that I can make it better at...
Read moreGave this place a try today. They brought out chips and 3 salsas, mild, medium, and hot. The mild was a green tart odd tasting salsa. The medium was your typical salsa, however very sweet. Like they added a bunch of sugar, the spicy one was more like a hot sauce. For our mains, we ordered the Asada dish and beef tacos. They brought the food out extremely quickly, and unfortunately, the meat & beans were luke warm. I believe everything is pre-cooked, kept in a steam table, and just slapped together fast. The two steak pieces were thin chewy & warm at best, very bland, not much flavor. The beans wer soup like. The tacos are very basic nothing special honestly reminded me of taco bell. The service was good, she took our orders and brought out drinks and food fast. They also had a guy playing live music, which is always nice to see. Overall I wasn't impressed, especially with all the other competition around. I might eventually give them another try, but this time...
