Tastee's Chicken and Seafood — Restaurant in Dover

Worst food ever! Came to visit fam here in Dover and was looking for a good fish, chicken and seafood place. OMG, when I say the Mac n cheese looked like Mac n cheese w cheez-it or Cajun seasoning. The greens were garlicky but tasteless if that makes sense. My husband's FAVORITE veggie/starch is corn and he didn't finish the 1st let alone start the 2nd. How do u mess up corn. The yellow rice was flavorless, period! What do u do with that. I have never been more disappointed in a "soul food" restaurant. Im from the Chi, by way of PA and the audacity they have to be so close to PA NY, NJ, and The Beltway and still serve horrible food like this, is just beyond me. Where are these ppl from that they cook like this?! Lastly, I saw some iced tea and asked, "Is that iced tea?" They said yes. When I got it, it was tea, lemonade, tons of sugar (which i love 'sweet tea' but not diabetes tea). It also had some other fruit flavoring which did not compliment the drink at all! Idk what Black ppl here are used to eating but, I would've done better going in the kitchen and cooking myself bc, THAT'S WHAT I DO! SO DISAPPOINTED! The cashier had been so nice to my husband but when I told her thanks, she looked me up n down and said nothing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The hate is real by my matching...

Great fries with a crunchy coating. Catfish was perfectly cooked, with a thin cornmeal coating having just the right amount of crispiness. Nice sauce for the fish. Fried chicken was crunchy and tasty with a great spicy-sweet sauce; chicken didn’t have a puddle of oil under it, so kudos for draining it well out of the fryer. Collards were ok, but had too much smoke flavoring ( liquid smoke?)—prefer a more mild smoky taste from cooking it with smoked meat. Super nice folks dishing up delicious food. Service was quick.

Edit 3/2024: Went back for more. Same good opinion. Tried mac&cheese and didn’t like it-strong paprika flavor giving it a bitter undertone, but otherwise very cheesy and generous serving. Still 5 stars

I've been craving real fried chicken (soul food). I'm new to the area and decided to take a walk to see what's around. I almost walked past this little hidden gem! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the young lady behind the counter. I placed my order and waited for about 10 maybe 15 minutes. I order the 4 piece wing combo with Mac and cheese. I had to do the review before I was finished the meal. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Fried hard but not dried out. They also gave me a sweet and sour sauce which went great with the chicken. The mac and cheese I will say didn't look to appealing but tasted great. I will be trying other dishes from here in the...
