One of the smaller state capitols I have been to, but it was still a great experience to tour it. A great chance to learn a little more about Delaware state history. The chambers were simpler, but had some unique features. For instance, you could see how they moved the desks around, (which was somewhat unique from the other state capitols I've been). The paintings were a nice touch to the state capitol as well. The staff here was helpful and helped me to take pictures or explain things when asked. They had useful papers for explaining the pieces of the capitol. If going on a holiday, it might be worth calling ahead before visiting though. I tried visiting on Labor day and turned out it was closed, (was not listed that way on their website). But was able to confirm by calling in. They may also be able to let you know if they have tours that day as they may not have tours on all days from...

My wife and I were here for the Dover Comicon. We had a booth, Military Gypsy presents Paint by the Point, which is my wife's concierge painting business. We were off on the side of the main strip but we still did some really good business.

There were a lot of great vendors at this convention who had very nice wares. There were goods for people of all ages; nerd, geek, goth, roleplayers, edgelords, comic junkies; all had vendors there with homemade items for purchase.

There was also a live action roleplay troupe there, LARP (for those in the know), and they had a slew of boffer weapons on site for anyone brave enough to try them. My daughter did and she had a blast.

Even with the rain at the end of the event, it was still a good day. We were glad we went and will likely go...

charming little building. if you are into visiting state capitols like myself, do not expect a grandiose rotunda like most newer ones have -- as there is no rotunda to speak of. the allure of this building is the history, and as our nation's first state, there is no shortage of that here. the grounds are beautiful and it's worth doing a lap around the exterior to check out all the monuments & memorials surrounding the capitol. I think the smaller size of the building suits the state perfectly. the staff here were wonderful. did the self guided tour, but guided tours are given every 30-45 mins for free year-round. worth your time if you...

A nice little building. Monuments to veterans surround the grounds. Tours are self guided. Throughout the interior the architecture is the same and it's difficult for a first time visitor, especially one unfamiliar with Delaware, to tell the House and Senate chambers apart. A person may view the chambers from the upper balcony or from the lower entrance to the chambers. Paintings are everywhere. My only complaint is that the building is not open to the public on weekends. But they do offer a virtual tour online which gives the same experience as being there in person.
