I have been a die hard fan of Aurelio’s Pizza since I was a kid. I grew up in Frankfort where we had one of the very first ones. It has always been amazing for me. Today I was feeling with some heavy family issues and it was a rough day. So I thought I would treat myself to my favorite pizza and their yummy Antipasto salad. I attempted 4 times and it took 20 min to try to get the order online. The website would not accept my email and user name even when I attempted to change it. So I called the store in Downers Grove. I’ve been going there for years now. When I called the young woman who answered seemed confused when I asked to order delivery through her since the website was being sketchy. She would only listen to half of what I was saying and then ask me to repeat it. So I did. She made the order for pick up and I explained that I wanted delivery please. She took some of my information and then said goodbye and I asked if she needed my address?! She then sounded incredibly inconvenienced by me. So I repeated all my info again in hopes of just getting a pizza delivered. After she finished with my order and gentleman called asking me if I live in Peoria? Because they can’t deliver there?! What?!!!! He said ok I’ll change it. I went to ask if he could read back the order and info to make sure this time everything is correct, And then he hung up on me. I called back and canceled the order. It took me over 35 min to just place the order and the people on the phone were just rude. All my life I’ve loved this place and today I’m so disappointed. And all I wanted was a simple pizza and a salad….just sad that Aurillios just no longer cares about their customers. It was never like that before. Oh, and when I called to cancel the order they were laughing at me and again acting as if I was inconvenient. All this for a pizza that could have made my day better. Thanks for that. I won’t be calling again or going there. After over 40 years of them being my favorite! Just wow...
Read moreCan’t do it anymore. I grew up on Aurelio’s and after moving to downers grove was beyond excited when I found an Aurelio’s 5 mins from my house. It was by far my favorites pizza and I’ve had it 2-3 times a month for the better part of the last 2 decades.
It’s clear they have the same great Aurelio’s recipe and ingredients but the teenagers working at this location are careless with how the pizza is assembled and cooked. It’s not their fault. They’re high schoolers who aren’t held to the high standards that other Aurelio’s locations have adopted. 50% of the pizza has too much sauce and the other 50% has none. Oh well, I get to enjoy 50% of what I paid for.
The tipping point for me is that my wife always wants cream cheese poppers. I explicitly order CREAM cheese poppers but 90% of the time I receive cheddar cheese poppers. I’ve told the person taking my order time and time again about the issues I’ve had previously and ensure we’re clear on what I’m ordering. I show up and check the receipt to make sure the order was taken correctly. I get in my car and try one of the poppers to confirm and 9/10 times it’s cheddar cheese. I’ve given up on going back in and asking them to correct the order because every time I’ve done that the bag they hand me is filled with… you guessed it! Cheddar cheese poppers.
If this happens a few times I could live with it, but I can no longer order the mediocre food here given the service. To be clear, this is an ownership issue and will gladly drive 20 mins to the Lagrange location to get...
Read moreWhat a disappointment in Aurelio’s, Downers Grove. I have been missing their pizza since our house fire in June. I placed an order for pick-up for my brothers bday today. My cousin picked it up for us and when she got here with it. I noticed the salads were missing. Then I noticed my large sausage was only half sausage. I called to let them know. They responded if we could come pick it up they could credit us $10. Sounded nice except they weren’t going to replace the pizza. I had 4 people here looking for sausage pizza and only had half a pizza with sausage. I said keep the $10 and replace my pizza. They refused to do that. Completely shocked- they screwed up- I needed to go back. They were going to give me the salads and a $10 credit but wouldn’t correct the pizza error. Honestly it can’t cost more than $10 to make a pizza. Didn’t need to be a large. Correct the half pizza mistake!! Our service mindset has gone to hell. I will never order from them again after this. It’s the little things like this that make or break it for me. You lost a good customer...
