I got a gift card to eat here back in Feb. and it was not good. Bisque subpar. Steak not cooked properly. Service was ok, he was helpful but took forever to bring the food and it was cold. The manager blamed the weather for not having enough servers, so she gave me another gift card and we went again on Sunday and again, service was ok. She was nice but not very attentive. The ribeye was dry and overcooked and the mashed potatoes were not hot. The burger was not cooked enough. The manager came over and tried to make it right again but this time there is no hope for me to ever go back.
Since you want to reply and say I’m lying about my experience instead of taking accountability. The steak was dry and had no flavor. Even the waitress and the GM said it looked dry. If she remembered me from the first time, then I think she would have made sure that the second experience was better. I didn’t go into detail about the experience to give you some grace. The weather in Feb was a storm. They didn’t think they were going to be busy so they only had one server and they did get busy and that was the excuse the GM gave. The first time, I ordered a shrimp salad to go that was horrible and small for the price. I also ordered more food to go because I had a gift card, and she threw in dessert. The crab cake was not hot and the second steak they made was overcooked. My experience on Sunday was that the steak was yes, a bit overcooked but DRY and TASTELESS. I didn’t want her to make another steak because if they didn’t get it right the first three steaks then what makes me think they will send me home with a perfectly cooked juicy steak. There was nothing she could do not because I’m unable to be pleased, she could not help me because your cooks don’t know how to cook. The burger my daughter ordered was rare, she ordered medium. I ordered medium rare. They reversed the order. I’m just leaving my experience with your restaurant. I hope you learn from it and do better. I see that you have good reviews, so clearly people love your restaurant, and your right…it’s clearly not for me. Good luck and...
Read moreMy wife and I recently visited Entourage Modern American in downtown Downers Grove for a late Sunday dinner, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The restaurant boasts a modern yet cozy ambiance, and we were promptly seated upon arrival.
We began our evening with two cocktails: the classic Old Fashioned and the Smoking Gun. The Smoking Gun was particularly impressive, served under a glass dome filled with wood chip smoke, adding a theatrical flair and enhancing its flavor.
Our server informed us about their happy hour, featuring half-off drinks and appetizers—a pleasant surprise. We started with the Vietnamese Summer Rolls, which were fresh and accompanied by a sweet chili and spicy peanut sauce. Next, we tried the Wagyu Filet Mignon Sliders. Despite requesting a medium cook, the sliders arrived well-done, and the sweetness from the brioche bun and caramelized onions was a bit overpowering.
The Spicy Shrimp & Roasted Jalapeño Grits were a standout, combining blackened shrimp, andouille sausage, and creamy white cheddar grits in a flavorful dish. We also sampled the Roasted Beets + Whipped Goat Cheese salad, which was decent but didn't particularly stand out.
For our main course, we shared the Tomahawk Chop. The steak was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. However, we were surprised by the price, as it wasn't listed on the menu and turned out to be higher than anticipated.
We concluded our meal with the Chocolate Heath Bar Crunch Cake. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations and felt like a letdown after an otherwise enjoyable meal.
Overall, Entourage is a welcome addition to Downers Grove's dining scene, offering a diverse menu and a pleasant atmosphere. While there were a few missteps, the experience was largely positive, and we look forward to returning to try more of...
Read moreMy daughter and I went for dinner here yesterday and I'm still thinking about the entire experience. Jason was our server and he is in my top 5 servers I have ever had. Personable, attentive, didn't rush us, made excellent suggestions.
We started with the bone marrow with delicious garlic toast, fig jam, and pickled red onions. I had an espresso martini. Followed by the salmon risotto which was perfectly done. So creamy, but not crunchy or mushy... just right. 🤌 My daughter had a vegetarian stuffed pasta with mushrooms it was also perfectly seasoned. Also had a gin and tonic that was perhaps the best gin and tonic I've ever had. The presentation from the starter, to the mains, drinks and desserts were all beautiful.
The banana cream pie was the best I've ever had. The chocolate cake was also good, but we couldn't finish it because we were so full.
It made our trip from Canada worth it just to experience this restaurant and the people who work there. Though I don't know the other man's name, I wanted to mention there was also a bearded man who mentioned he had only been working there for a short time. We both thought during our first conversation with him that he was an owner. He truly seemed to care about the place. As a business owner myself, I would be ecstatic to have such an incredible team. Well done! Thank you for a...
