I recently had the pleasure of dining at Outback Steakhouse in Downers Grove, and I can honestly say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that set the tone for our evening. The host was particularly kind, making us feel right at home as he guided us to our table. Both dishes we ordered (bloomin burger and bloomin fried chicken) was delicious. The sides were equally impressive, complementing our meals in every way which was fried and seasoned rice. And can we take a moment to appreciate the drinks? They were not only delicious but expertly crafted making each specialty drink different colors perfect for pictures! A special shout-out goes to our waiter, Russel, whose service was nothing short of exceptional! His attention to detail and genuine care for our experience made us feel like we were dining at a high-end restaurant. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and checked in with us at just the right moments. It was evident that he truly enjoys what he does, and it made our meal all the more enjoyable. As if the experience couldnāt get any better, the manager surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our first visit to Outback! What a delightful gesture that truly went above and beyond. Thank you for that sweet surprise! The cleanliness of the restaurant, including the bathrooms, added to the overall positive impression. Itās always a relief to see such attention to hygiene, especially in a dining environment. In summary, everything at Outback Steakhouse in Downers Grove was perfection ā from the food and drinks to the exceptional service provided by the entire staff. I cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you to everyone involved for making our visit so memorable. We will definitely be back for another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor starters when we first came in to get one of the cute drinks with the crocodile on it. ( while the drink was honestly nothing specialit tasted like juice with a shot of midori in it) the server seemed very nice at first. After taking our order though we never saw him again at our table. He was at every other table talking, getting refills and just checking in on customers at every other table besides ours. I find it ridiculous when I had 2 drinks and both were empty I never got asked once if I needed a refill or something else. Nothing was really good, all food was mediocre or overly seasoned which made it too salty. Pieces of chicken in my salad were pink, mac and cheese was so salty I took 2 bites and couldn't eat anymore. The bloomin shrimp had an odd taste but the sauce seemed to mask it? But my biggest issue is I was overcharged on my bill. My half of the bill with tip was 44.93 for some reason I was charged 47.92?? Why was I charged an extra 2.99??? The other person in my party was charged fine, no extra 2.99 on her bill?? I think it was pretty pricey for the salty mess we had. It was our first and last time coming here. There are a lot better places, literally anywhere but here. --- extra info- after the "owner" messaged me about my experience stating he would take care of the issue and even refund Mr he then basically came off as if I lied about being overcharged. He stated he only needed the last 4 of my card and the servers name. Then it was my entire card number and of course nothing. I was told I had to call my bank and get more " info" about it then give it to him so he would do the refund. WATCH YOUR RECEIPT AND MAKE SURE THEY CHARGE YOU ACCORDINGLY!!! PLACE IS RIDICULOUS AND " OWNER" HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. His emails started out nice and professional then he got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStaff ruined my son's 20th birthday celebration dinner. I was part of a party of 4 on a busy Saturday night where we had used their table reservation system online. My mom called ahead to make sure we could bring our own cake (dietary restrictions in our group). We were seated in a booth near the kitchen and the restaurant was very busy. We had Marcus as our server and he was not only unattentive, he was periodically rude and deliberately avoided our table throughout our meal. At one point, he was walking straight by us, never having stopped to see if we were enjoying our meal, nor asking us if we wanted refills on our drinks. If we'd like to order anything else. Nothing at all. Now I understand that he might be busy but I was in the middle of asking him for drink refills and he walked right past us and ignored us. As the tables around us cleared out, still no visit to our table. We had to ask other servers and even the manager when he walked past where the bathroom was, could we have refills, etc. The kicker was when they brought out the desert to the table as I was attending to our elderly guest's washroom needs. So I was unable to be present to sing Happy Birthday to my son and watch him blow out his candle. We will absolutely never return here again. Sadly, my son was the one who wanted to come to this particular location to celebrate.
I understand if they're understaffed like many industries are nowadays but my son only turns 20 once. The least you could do is ask if we're enjoying our dinner or maybe we want more than one drink each throughout our dinner? Maybe wait till the entire table is present before bringing out the birthday cake. The food was fine. One star for...
