My family and I were in town for a wedding, and this place came recommended. When my boyfriend and I went he ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle of course was the traditional Belgium waffle (hard to screw that up), but for the chicken portion instead of a nice piece of fried chicken it came with 2 pressed chicken tenders which appeared to come from the frozen department at the grocery store. This was a little disappointing, but the even larger disappointment came out of the kitchen in the form of "biscuits and gravy". And I use the quotation marks because I don't believe that anyone could actually call this biscuits and gravy. There were indeed biscuits, but the sauce on top of them was definitely not sausage gravy. Traditionally sausage gravy is made with a white roux sauce, this was straight up thanksgiving diner gravy with chunks of sausage in it. Since I don't typically like to eat straight brown gravy, I could only have 1 biscuit (it comes with 4) before I resolved myself to just eating the eggs, which were also included. Then I tried the eggs and found that the some of the whites of the sunny side up eggs were still entirely raw.. Salmonella is not fun at a wedding, so I decided to eat the only edible thing on my plate, the hash browns. So basically I paid almost $10 for hash browns and a plate full of inedible disappointment. If you go, make sure you order something simple, like a...
Read moreI went here for lunch. Overall, I was very displeased with my service and the food. The waitress seemed very annoyed to be at work. And was not that friendly. I also waited 10 minutes before being greeted after I was seated... I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with some fruit. The food came out unexpectedly quicker than I thought, which was a nice surprise. However, once I looked at my sandwich, I realized they literally just put it under a panini press for like a minute and then on my plate. So none of the cheese was melted, and it was cold in the middle. I then had to wait another 7 minutes and had to ask another server to find mine for help. She came over, and I asked if they could please finish cooking the sandwich. The other server that was standing next to her was much nicer and apologized. She said this happens all the time, and the cooks never make it right. So I'd not recommend anyone get that! My fruit cup was fresh, and I ate that. Once my food came back, you could tell it was just popped in a microwave. The bread was now soft, not that with the outside crispy bite you'd hope for. But the cheese was melted, lol.
I personally wouldn't recommend coming here for lunch. They might be better with...
Read moreWorst Chicken and waffles that I've ever eaten anywhere. Chicken is insipid, literally flavorless, super greasy, and over cooked. The plastic utensils literally bend trying to cut it. So overcooked that I feel like the chicken is going to break one of my brackets on my braces.
We ordered two of the same and both orders had different portions of chicken, why? One had more than the other, but by comparison to other reviews with chicken and waffles images, we got the short end of the deal with a couple of small overcooked tenders.
Not worth the money and just like most other reviews for the chicken and waffles, avoid ordering them here. They are simply not good. If you want good chicken and waffles, drive yourself to Chicago and get them from Batter and Berries or Golden Nugget, they've set the bar high for me and I will just have to go there to have my chicken and waffle fix because these left a lot to be desired.
Bear in mind that my review is for a carry out order, so I've adjusted to 2 stars to compensate for the 9 minutes of travel time back to the office. This would be a 1 star if the same quality was presented while dining in. Regardless, I've never had chicken turn into rock despite being being...
