4/11/25 update: I decided to get the signature torta and fried ice cream on this past visit. The signature torta is a good size especially when you get it with the meal. The bread was soft but not soggy. Generous amount of meat inside. The fried ice cream was not too sweet, you eat the ice cream with that bread underneath. The fried ice cream itself has a nice texture. It doesn’t melt right away like regular ice cream.

9/28/24 update: We decided to come back and eat here. I did the 3 taco plate. I ordered Cajun shrimp, filet mignon, and birria. The plate comes with rice and fiesta cup beans. The employees were very kind and attentive. The only downside is that I found some of the sauces to be watery at the sauce bar.
-Cajun shrimp 5 - big pieces of juicy shrimp with a plentiful amount of mango pico de gallo on top. -filet mignon 5 - filet mignon was very tender and easy to chew. The chimichurri sauce was very tasty. -birria 5 - this is pretty popular at most Mexican spots, Meat is tender and the whole taco tasted great with the consomme.

I first went to the Taco Maya location in Schaumburg and I loved it. I was pleased to see there was a location in Downers Grove. I like that they’re open late. The restaurant was very clean. Customer service was excellent. I ordered Korean beef, yucatan, chicken tikka, and horchata. The chips were good but a little saltier than the Schaumburg location. The avocado sauce for dipping is still a great choice. Horchata was very good, tasty with just the right amount of cinnamon. Korean beef was mediocre. Meat needed more seasoning. ⅗. Chicken tikka was very savory. Chicken was perfectly moist and those masala spices had just the right amount of heat. Mild spicy. 5/5. Yucatan was my personal favorite tonight. Big pieces of marinated shrimp with generous amount of chorizo was a great combination. 5/5. I recommend getting the tacos from the speciality and chef’s special sections. You can truly experience more of the Indian-Mexican fusion. I give...
Read moreI’ve picked up food deliveries from this location before, and Jose specifically, is typically working the counter late at nights. He’s always super polite and respectful—he handles orders professionally. Tonight, I signed up for Taco Maya rewards program and downloaded the app. I’ve eaten Taco Maya only a handful of times, and the quality is truly outstanding. I like the restaurant chain’s cleanliness and the care the store puts in to their food quality. Orders for takeout usually come in a very neat bag and the to go boxes are even nice. They have a wide selection of sauces to choose from. The steak burrito is my fav item, and I absolutely love the queso and guacamole add ons. Upon ordering tonight, the app discount wasn’t applying and Jose was able to ensure I’d get a refund on my card for that discount in a few days. His ability to work with customers and the care he has for this store are qualities of a leader. I do appreciate that he was working the counter, as I remembered his face. Very thankful that he helped me tonight with my order, he’s an awesome addition to this team here at the Butterfield Rd. location. Also, shoutout to the manager and the chef, Orlando, who made an effort to create our order very efficiently. I look forward to ordering here again. Thank you again, Jose...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats and received someone else’s order entirely. The name on the receipt said Baljit was supposed to be the recipient. I called the restaurant and they told me the delivery driver grabbed the wrong bag. Don’t you double check the names before handing them off? Apparently not because I came into the store to grab my order an hour after I originally ordered on Uber eats to almost be given the wrong order again. I came in, told them I was the person who called on the phone and ask them if they had an order for Arielle. The guy looks at me repeats my name and then handed me a bag with the name Jordan on it. Jordan sounds absolutely nothing like Arielle. Luckily the guy behind me chimed in and said that it was his order. I believe they gave my order to somebody else so they had to remake it for me, which luckily didn’t take very long at all. I just wish that after everything I went through and waiting over an hour after I ordered that I could say the food was worth it. Because it wasn’t. The flavor of the food was underwhelming and the tacos weren’t even that great. Not worth all the confusion and chaos. I’ll just order from another taco place next time that knows how to read people’s...
