Don’t let all the tables and chairs fool you, you cannot ‘dine-in’ at this place. After struggling to open the extremely heavy front door while the owner watched me struggle from the counter, I almost gave up because I thought they were closed. It took another muscly male patron to get a hernia opening said door for me to actually get inside. I sat down at a table only to be abruptly told by the man working that there was ‘no dine in’ service. I gestured toward the 4 or 5 sets of empty tables and asked what all those tables were for? I was told those were for ‘weddings’. So I guess if you have an entire wedding reception with only 8 to 10 guests you would be welcome to dine in. I asked if it was okay for me to sit and wait for the friend I was meeting so we could go someplace else and he repeated ‘no dine in!’ I’d also like to add that their website states that you can ‘Eat delicious food. Grab a drink. But most of all, relax!’ To me, relaxing means sitting down. Not running back and forth to my car in the rain and still being hungry. My friend arrived and luckily a large, strong man was leaving so we were able to get out and head to Thai First (also in Downer’s Grove) where we felt welcome and had the best Thai Food ever. I don’t want to knock the food at Thai Cafe, because years ago we were actually able to dine in and I remember the food being good, but it’s been awhile, hence the 3 stars.

If you're in search of tasteless and overpriced food, look no further, this will be your place!!! On my first and last visit, I decided to play it safe and ordered pad kee mao (drunken noodles), but to my disappointment, it was incredibly poorly prepared. The portion size was small, mostly just oily noodles, the dish lacked flavor and spice, and they even charged an extra $3 for a few small pieces of beef. I could have easily replicated the same taste by tossing flat noodles in oil, and for a fraction of the cost. Approach other reviews with caution, as they might reflect the preferences of an older generation who tend to enjoy more bland cardboard-like food.

ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT FOOD. We wiped our plates clean! (as seen in the picture) I have had Thai food at many restaurants but this is the BEST. We ordered the Papaya salad, Larb Kai, Panang Curry, and Pad See Eiw. All of the flavors were delicious and authentic. The food came out within 10 minutes time and the service was exceptional. To top it off the pricing of the food is reasonable, not overpriced at all. Penny was our server, she is so sweet and friendly. I highly recommend coming here, I prefer this restaurant over a Michelin star restaurant.

Recently moved to the burbs from the city trying to find a good Tom Kha. I saw this place had a ton of amazing reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. Really sad to say that I wish I didn't waste my hard earned money on absolute slop. I ordered two Tom Kha's with NO chicken, only veggies. I also ordered the egg rolls with their noodle dish with peanut sauce. When my order arrived, everything was cold. As if it's been sitting out for hours. The noodle dish was soggy. the peanut sauce was a bit hard, the spring rolls were not as described & my tom kha had a bunch of chicken in it. I called the Restaurant and they tried saying we never ordered from them. The guy was arguing with me so rudely on the phone saying that I didn't order from them and if I did it was Grub Hubs fault. I tried explaining that my receipt said exactly what I ordered but it wasn't what I got..and that isn't grub hubs fault. After 5 minutes trying to explain to the guy on the phone that it was their mistake..he said he would deliver another order made exactly how I requested & hung up on me. Well, not shocked, never got it. Won't be ordering from here again.

EDIT** They actually showed up to my house with a new order. Because of this I will up the...

2nd time ordering from this place because the first time was a good experience. Second time not so much. For starters food was cold and they have basically changed the containers to about half the portion of what they used to be. Very small portions of food for the amount of money you pay per order. Not sure why my tax rate was so high as I calculated the sales tax in Downers Grove is 6.25% but for some reason I was charged about 10% tax on my order. Not cool. Very disappointed. Won’t be going back to this place. May i also add that I placed an order about a month ago online and I show up to pick up the order which had already been paid for online, large office order to be exact. Almost $200 and I show up to pick up the order and the restaurant was closed, I knocked and knocked on their door and nobody ever opened. Very weird, I guess I should’ve learned from that experience but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as they did refund me the next day but it was a waste of my time to even drive there and wait 20 mins for no one to come to the door. This place is weird. Will...
