After seeing the 4.8 average Google reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered one each of the fish taco, the shrimp taco, and the taco supreme with carnitas. I wholeheartedly have to agree with those who rated the food as poor. The carnitas taco was ordered with a corn tortilla, but came on a flour tortilla (the corn tortilla was used on the shrimp taco, which was ordered with a flour tortilla). And this was at 3pm (not a busy time). The corn tortilla was soaked in oil, as if it had gone into a fryer that was way too cold, and none of the tortillas were grilled to any degree. All three of the tacos were bland, with very little flavor (you shouldn't have to soak a taco in hot sauce for flavor). I couldn't even bring myself to finish half of the shrimp taco, or half of the carnitas taco. After eating this food, I went back and looked through the Google reviews. Over half of the "stellar" reviews were by self-proclaimed "local guides". How one becomes a "local guide" is unknown to me, but they certainly don't know anything about good Mexican food (I suspect their purpose is to artificially fluff up Google reviews in order to promote local tourism). I will say that the facilities seemed clean, and the girl who got me my order was cheerful and courteous. It seems like this could be a good Mexican restaurant... if they learned how to cook and prepare...
Read moreI don’t like to give negative reviews but I feel compelled in this instance. I ordered takeout the other day for my wife, son and I. The order was done in a timely fashion and we began eating as soon as we got home. I had ordered a burrito with refried beans. My son ordered the kids tacos. When we opened the packages my son’s kids tacos looked like a kid prepared them. They were a mess in the box. My burrito was not fried, I assumed they inadvertently gave me a chimichanga? There was a lot of sauce in my meal but in retrospect I think they failed to fully cook my meal. I only ate a couple bites of the meal as it was just not appealing. Sometime around 2am I woke up with a sour stomach and it went downhill from there. I got severe food poisoning from undercooked chicken. If you’ve never had food poisoning be thankful, it’s like a 24 hour bug on steroids. I was VIOLENTLY vomiting all morning. I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus but when you prepare food you need to make sure it’s done right. Based on the way my food was prepared Las Fridas needs to take a look at their...
Read moreyou NEED to go here. i cannot stress this enough!! service and atmosphere were both lovely, but the food? heavenly.
i went here with my dad after our first option was closed and a local recommended Las Frida’s to us. and let me tell you, i’m so glad that happened. it was so worth it.
the ‘Salmon a la Diabla’ was so good i became emotional. i’m being so serious when i say i got a lump in my throat and everything. afterwards when we finished eating and were talking about how good our food had been, i began to tear up — that’s how good it was.
attached picture is of frida’s nachos (that’s the platter name)! albeit it’s after we started eating it. but it was so so good and it was loaded!! you also get a free basket of nachos, whether you order an appetizer or not!
staff was lovely, kind, and accommodating as well! overall, 10/10 visit. i’d give it more stars if it was possible but google is an opp.
EAT HERE!!! you won’t...
