Salt Grass Steak House, an esteemed member of the Landry’s dining group, offers a genuine taste of Texas with its inviting atmosphere and a menu brimming with classic steakhouse favorites. This review delves into the many aspects that make Salt Grass an exceptional dining destination, from its impeccable service and ambiance to the mouth-watering dishes that promise a culinary adventure.
Upon entering Salt Grass, the ambiance immediately sets the stage for a classic steakhouse experience. The décor, characterized by its rustic charm, features historical photos and ornate fixtures that pay homage to the long history of Texas cattle drives. The warm lighting and wooden accents create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for both romantic dinners and family gatherings.
The service at Salt Grass is consistently excellent. Staff members are not only attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu, eager to share recommendations and insights into the preparation of their signature dishes. The warm and welcoming service begins the moment you step through the door and continues throughout the dining experience, ensuring that every meal is enjoyable and every need is met promptly.
The true star of the Salt Grass experience is, unquestionably, the food. The steak, which is the heart of the menu, is of exceptional quality. Each cut, from the robust ribeye to the tender filet, is seasoned with Salt Grass’s signature blend of spices and grilled to perfection. The steak's exterior has a delightful char that seals in the juices, creating a burst of flavor with each bite. It’s this meticulous attention to detail and quality that sets their offerings apart from typical steakhouse fare.
Beyond steaks, the menu at Salt Grass features a wide range of options to cater to various tastes and preferences. The seafood selections, like the Grilled Shrimp or the Atlantic Salmon, are fresh and expertly cooked. The accompaniments, including their famed baked potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, are all prepared with the same care and attention as their main dishes. For starters, the Range Rattlers—jumbo jalapeños stuffed with shrimp and cheese, then wrapped in bacon—are a must-try and highlight the steakhouse’s Texan flair.
No meal at Salt Grass would be complete without sampling their desserts. The desserts, particularly the Chocolate Brownie Cake, are rich and decadent, providing a sweet end to a satisfying meal. The cake is moist, fudgy, and served warm, paired perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that melts into the warm chocolate, creating a delightful contrast.
Salt Grass also offers a selection of wines, craft beers, and cocktails that complement the robust flavors of the meals. The wine list includes both domestic favorites and international selections, providing options that pair beautifully with both the intensity of the red meats and the delicacy of their seafood dishes. The bartenders are skilled in crafting traditional cocktails as well as innovative new concoctions, enhancing the dining experience with perfectly mixed drinks that reflect the quality and character of the establishment.
In conclusion, Salt Grass Steak House delivers a dining experience that is both authentically Texan and universally appealing. With its blend of top-notch steaks, diverse menu options, and exemplary service, it stands out as a prime destination for anyone looking to indulge in a high-quality steakhouse meal. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply in the mood for a delightful dinner, Salt Grass promises an experience that’s both memorable and delicious. Read moreIf there was a negative star this place would receive the award for worst service in America. I cannot even think where to start. Reservation at 7 for 7 folks we arrived at 6:30 early enough, so we were seated in the long table between the bar and staff kitchen door HUGE mistake. Waited over 15 mins for server to come take drink order she was more worried about how many breads we would need, mind you it was 92degrees and we were all super thirsty. Drinks arrived about 7:10 she disappeared for another 15 mins. We had to wave her down to take our order, I got sidetracked and just said cheeseburger, not rare, medium or well so note this later, most everyone at our table got a steak, little man got kids ribs. No refills ever, I had to beg halfway through the meal.
Half our table got food, the other food 10 mins later. We had to shout the entire time the music was way too loud. Food arrived at 7:50. Burger was bloody red and dripping so under grilled it walking off my plate. I never ever send a burger back but this time I did, came back a new patty, it was like they held it over the flame on purpose and the cheese had melted no scratch that it had disintegrated into patty The Cesar salad was messed up, not Cesar dressing at all. The kids ribs had so much sauce rubbed all over it poor thing had to take a napkin and wipe them down. Took us 35 mins to get the bill and pay at this point we should have all just walked out. The server needs to go work in a nursing home, you know a job to match your energy. 3 of us went outside to wait while others were getting check and again the music was so loud we had to yell and the little plugged his ears. Even others were commenting on this, I should have told them to roll on but by this time I was exhausted from trying to eat microwave french fries they reheated from sending back the plate, I took one bite of the burger. They should offer IV fluids when leaving I think I was border line dehydrated. We stopped at Chick-fil-a on the way home, thank goodness for the LORD's chicken and sweet tea or I would have starved to death.
For anyone who has kept reading thank you and let us sum this up for you.
Eat in main dining room, not a corner Start with ordering a drink and water for back Look at menu while you wait and place your order with drinks. Let them know you would like your drinks first before appetizer, salad and bread arrive Do not bring family or friends with you as you will not be able to hear anything they say, or take a quick lip reading lesson on youtube for your entire party before entering the dining area. Throw the extra fork on the ground, the salad isn't worth using it anyways. You could also for an additional cup and pour half your soda in there and then mix with water so you now have two drink kinds like when grandma would decide up the soda between all the kids to make it stretch
Thats all...
Read moreToday we went there as a family of 5! Our server tried her hardest as she was the hostess as well as our server. The bartender was terrible. She claimed to measure out drinks but she did not. Our first drink wasn’t bad so we watched her make the second one. She put a small amount of liquor and then a bunch of other things. I went up to the bar (in front of Teresa the manager) and told her that there was not enough alcohol in the drinks. The manager told me that drinks are measured out and I told her that I understood this but the bartender was not doing this at all. The bartender said she would take care of us and she did not add any extra. The liquor barely covered the bottom of the glass. The manager, Teresa had her remake it and told me she was going to measure it. We watched her again and the bartender didn’t measure it again. We are not one to complain but we would like to get what we paid for. She did the same with my husband’s drink so he just got a beer refusing to pay for a drink without the proper amount of alcohol in it. The manager was very argumentative still stating the opposite of what was happening in front of our own eyes. We let it go and waited forever for our food. My husband’s food came out wrong. I ordered extra sauce for my salmon and he got it all over his chicken. Our server was not the issue. Other staff failed to help her in addition to the manager that you could tell did not feel like she had any authority to fix the issue. We were not offered a discount or any comp. We told her that we thought it was important to make a review and then she had a complete attitude change but still nothing to fix...
