This was my first experience at a Waffle House since there aren’t any locations where I’m from. I looked forward to trying it until I got there. I went with a party of three other people, so there were four of us total. Within five minutes of being there, we were asked three times if we were ready after saying the first two times we needed time to figure out what we wanted. I guess they expect everyone to know already or only take 60 seconds to figure it out.
The last time we were asked if we were ready, the cook asked us from behind the counter in the kitchen. One person at our table responded and said she was ready, and he responded by saying “Well, we’ll take the order all at once. Everybody needs to be ready.” Ok, Sir. That’s literally what we’ve been saying this whole time, but ok. It felt like he was rushing us and had an attitude because they had to wait on us to place an order. They didn’t have to wait long, but I guess it felt like a lifetime to him.
The food was subpar. It’s not worth going back. I didn’t expect anything special; however, I did expect for everything to at least be edible. Everything was decent except the hash browns. I’ve never had hash browns that look like stir fry noodles before. After the first taste, I didn’t eat any more of them. I wanted to send them back and sub them for something else but chose not to after being rushed and the cook having an attitude.
I also noticed my table got our drinks in to-go cups and the table that was seated after us got regular cups. It’s not a huge deal—just an observation in the difference in how we were treated versus people who came in after us.
Overall, service was ok. The woman who greeted and sat us was fine, and the woman who took over for her was also fine. It felt like they were just doing their jobs. My issue is with the cook. After this experience, I won’t ever go out of my way again to go back to any other location. I’m sure it doesn’t matter because they don’t need my money, and people will continue to eat there. I now see why those videos of Waffle House go viral.
If you want to try for the first time, I suggest thoroughly looking over the menu beforehand, so you know what you want as soon as your buns...
Read moreUPDATE 5/27/22: used the link they provided below and filled out the form last night. Got a call today from district apologizing for the issues I had. They assured me the store was deep cleaned and brought back up to standard and are doing their best to make things right. I appreciate it!
5/24/22 around 5pm. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a waffle house. When me and my son got there only 1 set of customers was eating and one was leaving. We were not greeted, just awkwardly stood there till we were told we could sit. Strike 1, Floor was absolutely filthy. I get nauseous crunching on things underfoot (reminds me of stepping on roaches/crunchy bugs) and everywhere I stepped I felt something crunch under my feet. Tables were "clean" but still dirty and I didn't want to touch anything. I ordered an all-star and asked for bacon well done n hash browns scattered n well done --waiter never called it out to the cook n I got barely cooked bacon n hash browns. Strike 2. I shared some of the undercooked for my liking hash browns with my son so they wouldn't go to waste and we found a hair in them. Strike 3. I take the plate to the waiter n show him the hair n ask for more. At this point all our food is done bc I'm losing my appetite each second I'm in there. Get the 2nd set of hash browns still undercooked with guess what? ANOTHER HAIR IN IT! 2 separate orders both with hair??!! How is that possible?? At this point I throw my money on the table n walk out. I should have left without paying for my meal but I wanted out of there so bad I didn't care to fight anymore. They almost made me quit one of my favorite restaurants. Glad the WH on international drive redeemed it for me I recommend going there over this cess...
Read moreThis Waffle House is nasty, the bacon and sausage sits out on the side while they make waffles and eggs, there meat isn’t under a warmer and they literally pick up the cheese with their hands and leave it on the plate to wait for the eggs. With cold toast. As you can see in the picture they pile the plates on top of the food, I sent my water back cause my cup had (looked like spoiled milk) stains inside and it was floating in my water. Then that nasty rag the egg lady wiped everything down with including her hands was stained down. It’s no reason they make an assembly line to keep up with bacon and sausage orders, they’re not under staffed, there’s no meal on the menu that takes more that 15 min to cook.
The waitresses we had was rude for no reason. I eat at Waffle House a lot so I know when you order chicken and waffles to say I’d like one waffle and one order of chicken breast, her rude response was they don’t have chicken, I asked her if they had chicken breast, she says yes, but when I add a waffle to the side she literally continued on how they don’t have chicken ! 3x Finally when I get rude back with her she states the chicken is $7.50 and the waffle is $5 … 😳🤨 like okay ! Thank you ?? can you add that to my order????
if you were trying to politely inform me that there was no meal and it’s two separate charges there was a better way to say that, also had you stopped being rude, for no reason, you would hear me saying I want a chicken breast with a waffle on the side !
This is a tourist area, for them to be so dirty and sloppy is dangerous and why there isn’t a “regulars” crowd during breakfast, lucky some of the tourists have no choice but...
