I have eaten at LaRosa's, at several different locations, numerous times and have always been not only pleased but left looking forward to when I would return. One meal at the Dry Ridge restaurant though has insured that I will never eat at this particular location again for not only was the food and service bad, it was abysmal. The only reason that I can find it in my heart to give this location one star is that the Pepperoni Rondos, with their hot melted butter, were wonderful as usual. After receiving my Rondos though, things went downhill dramatically. The first issue came with the televisions which were blaring at a high volume with some real estate flip infomercial. Twice we asked one of the servers to please turn it down or turn it to another channel. They just smiled blankly and went about their business which was, at 11:30 on a Saturday morning, congregating around the pick-up register. We ordered a large pizza and waited an eternity for it to arrive before our server informed us that there was a problem with the oven but that the manager was on it and it would be out soon. Once it did arrive, the toppings were cooked perfectly and the cheese nicely melted but the crust itself was well under cooked to the point of being gross. No offer was made to make things right by the management and once our bill arrived we found that even though we had ordered a large pizza that we had been charged full price for our Rondos to boot (these are supposed to be only $5.00 with the order of a large pizza) which the server did get changed. One of the things that the restaurant offers is Luigi's cookies which my wife loves so she decided to salvage her meal by buying a package of the cookies. Once she went to the register, where all of the servers hovered, she discovered they were out. There she found out that they have been out for a while now but they "just hadn't got around to ordering more". This from the same group of servers who had obviously been too busy to turn down televisions that were blaring out an infomercial. I have eaten here in the past with much better results but there was absolutely no excuse for the under cooked food and poor service we received today and it has left me with a bad taste in my mouth for a place I have enjoyed dining at numerous times...
Read moreMy family loves this pizza place! We've been coming here for a few years now and they handle things very well as far as Covid precautions go. The food is ALWAYS ALWAYS very fresh and delicious!
The only issues I do have there and it's only because it's gotten worse in the past year (then again, it's worse on businesses since Covid and I get it), is the wait time to get a seat can take usually 20 minutes to 1 hr and sometimes longer. They Rae a very popular place I'm guessing because they have a bar but it's the lack of employees just like everywhere else these days that causes the delay at getting to a table quickly.
Another problem is the sometimes 30min-44 min wait for your food to arrive at your table. The last time we were there it took about only 10-15 minutes to get a table but then about 30-44 minutes to get our food. It was such a long wait mainly on my 5 year old.
They have cute little like table paper and Crayons that they normally give to kids to draw on while your at your table. When we were seated, we didn't get any for my daughter and I thought it was because they just didn't do that anymore. Then another family sat behind us and their waiter (who was not ours), brought their little boy who looked older then mine some Crayons and the paper ☹️. We were pretty disappointed but at that time our main concern was "where was our food?"
Times have changed since Covid and the loss of employees has really hurt so many businesses. Throughout the time while we were there, the waiters and waitresses zipped around like honeybees trying to satisfy everyone the best they could and that's what we appreciate the most, their hard work.
Always tip your waiter/waitress even if it's not so great, they have a very hard job and people don't make it...
Read moreWorthy of 5 stars!
Let's begin by my mentioning my 4-star rating. I rarely give 5-star ratings because it skews the numbers.
I recently had a GREAT experience here! I had a first date (with a gal who's now my girlfriend!) here and everything was wonderful. Since it was New Year's Day, they weren't busy which is why I chose this restaurant and location.
Since this was a 1st date, we weren't necessarily there for the food, we were there to get to know each other. Upon getting seated, I explained to our server that we anticipated being there for HOURS and we shouldn't need much attention. But I informed her that I planned on tipping VERY well (which I did... my tip was in the neighborhood of $25 - $30 on a $6.50 bill and I'm not kidding!).
Our server kept checking in on us and filled our water glasses when we requested it. Mind you, we were far from demanding customers - again this was a 1st date and we were getting to know each other.
I think we were there for about 9 hours (seriously) and it was perfect. Several times we overheard the servers talking about us and what a cute couple we were. We agreed with this (of course!) and appreciated the compliments.
In summary, we had a GREAT time! If we could personally thank the servers on duty that day, we certainly would. Thank you for a...
