Silk Nail Design — Local services in Dublin

I am new to the area and do not have an established nail salon. Tuesday evening I decided I needed a mani pedi before an event over the weekend. I researched salons (for entirely too long) on several platforms. I decided on Silk Nail because they have an online booking option and the solid number of reviews and stars on Yelp. I requested an appointment for 6 pm and received a confirmation Wednesday morning. Unfortunately I was 5 minutes late due to traffic (Google said with traffic 10 minutes, gave myself 18 min to a lot for additional time... lesson learned about allotting even more). I'm uncertain if they would have started at 6 if I was on time but we didn't start until around 6:45 pm. The owner was very hospitable and offered a beverage (coffee, green tea, water, soda) in a Styrofoam cup (not eco friendly but a sweet gesture). She invited me to sit in the chair to wait, filled the tub and turned the Jets on. The water was cold, she added peeled lemons to the water (I understand the ambiance but it felt like little fish swimming around my feet because of the water jetting around). When the cap to the motor popped off she quickly came to fix it and I asked for the lemons to be removed. She was very kind and accomodating. I wish she would have turned on the massage feature while I was waiting. The control is behind the chair. I was curious if they were massage chairs or not because the control was not in sight. The lady who provided my mani pedi was very detail oriented and did a fantastic job. PLEASE NOTE: the differentiator was the massage!! This is one of the reasons I gave a 35% tip. She took the time, applied the perfect pressure and worked areas I didn't know need focused. I noticed when one of my toes wasn't perfect, although she was one the 2nd coat she started over on that nail. She did it quickly and if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't have noticed. Perfect with customer service compared to other nail places. I like this place bc it is kind of hidden and the spa music is very relaxing. There's no frenzy feeling like some on the other nail places when it gets too busy. Plus there is no TV which I prefer bc the nail technician is truly examining and focusing on each nail instead of watching TV. This has happened to me at other nail places with has resulted in polish not applying correctly and I only notice after I've left. Linda did an excellent job on my pedicure. She did a really great job understanding what I needed without me having to go into a whole lot of explanation even though it had been almost a year-and-a-half since my last pedicure. She did such a great job on my massage and styling of my toenails that I will definitely be back and I hope she gets lots of visitors because of this review because she deserves it!
