Came here for the Jjajangmyeon and it was absolutely delicious. I usually order it through Uber Eats, but having it served fresh is better.
We got the meat jjajangmyeon, and it was amazing. The black bean sauce had a strong umami flavor without being too overwhelming. It also had a good amount of sweetness to it which makes you crave the dish even more after every bite. There was enough sauce for the noodles given, even with the extra noodles that I ordered.
I do wish that they give out a little bit more extra meat in the dish. Every time I’ve ordered here, there’s only a small amount of meat added into the jjajangmyeon. It was enough to add texture to the dish, but may not be worth the price. Another thing is that the noodles were a bit overcooked (a little soggy), which was a disappointment. Overall it’s still a solid dish and will still keep ordering it next time.
The chili shrimp is just ok. The flavor is good, but there is so much sauce that the fried shrimps starts to become soggy after a minute or two.
A dish that I do recommend is the Stir-fried Jjajangmyeon. It’s a little bit more on the spicy side, but the flavor profile is so robust that it’s a must try. It’s not as sweet as the regular Jjajangmyeon, but it has a good seafood savory flavor to it.
Service here is good and fast. Despite how busy they are, they get your orders in quickly and serve it to you within 10-15 minutes. Recommend this place if you’re craving Jjajangmyeon or if you’ve never...
Read moreChef Paik is really popular in Korea. He is a CEO of a company that runs a wide variety of different franchise brands. Hong Kong Banjum is one of the brands. Hong Kong Banjum specializes in Korean Chinese food. I've been to many different franchises created by Chef Paik back in Korea. All of them were "at least" decent. Some of them were great!
짜장면 (jjajang myun - black bean noodle) and 짬뽕 (jjambbong - spicy noodle) are the two pillars of Korean Chinese food.
You can order two dish with rice, too! So I ordered jjajang rice instead of noodle. And I really liked it! I like how they give you fried egg over the rice with black bean sauce. (Which noodle doesn't have!!)
The other dish is called 깐풍기 (ggan poong gi). Man, this 깐풍기 tastes so delicious! I like how its deep fry is so crusty and the meat is so tender. It's spicy sauce is amazing....
I recommend this combination: order jjajang rice with 깐풍기. And, maybe a diet coke to wash grease down your throat. Hahaha.
P.S. You can order white onions with special black sauce. Korean Chinese restaurants in Korea all have this dish. Just tell one of the servers if you are only served with yellow radish side dish. You can try out. Korean people eat white onion (not spicy haha) because some Korean Chinese food get too...
Read moreUsually eat at this place but got it to go. Got jajangmyeon, sweet and sour pork and added spicy sauce and spicy chicken and extra noodles and extra rice. The spicy chicken taste is different than other same type korean/chinese places. This place now adds ton of jalapeno in the chicken dish. Really? JALAPEÑOS? in chinese food? The jajangmyeon noodle amount has shrank to ridiculous amount equal to kids menu. I have eaten this noodle 1000 times from many places and have never never gotten this small amount before. They charge more than what their menu $ amount shows also. The taste of jajang sauce was fine but really raise the price and shrink the amount to half on everything I ordered. I have to go out again to get more food to eat. Also don't ever add the spicy sauce to your order of sweet and sour pork. I just thought they would have some spicy sauce on the side to try. They just added some orange spicy sauce in the main sauce. I don't know what type of sauce but it was too spicy also. You're done getting my...
