Be Banh Mi 2 — Restaurant in Duluth

Plenty of parking by the restaurant. It’s in the same shopping plaza as Sweet Hut.

I would recommend you order ahead so you don’t have to wait as long. I didn’t know so we had to wait quite a bit at the store.

Area is nice and spacious, there is indoor dining available.

Iced Milk Coffee: it was a bit too bitter for me, but if you wait and let the ice melt a little bit it’s pretty good.

Personally I feel like the ratios are a bit off. There is a lot more veggies than meat. If you look at my pictures, you would think all the Banh Mi are the same but they aren’t.

My order was to go. You do have the option to have your veggies on the side so you can add it when you are ready to eat.

Be grilled pork: ordered two, one with jalapeño and one without. This one is my second favorite.

Glazed chicken: got this one on a stick instead of the regular bread. I actually prefer it because it’s easier to eat per bite. Still has a good texture. It is also a bit cheaper.

Pork meatball: lacked in flavor for this one.

Teriyaki chicken: was a bit too sweet for me.

I personally like cilantro, but like I said the veggies were a bit overpowering the meat. Next time I will ask to have the veggies on the side.

This is my go to and favorite banh mi place in Atlanta. After trying other banh mi places in California, Texas, and Chicago, I dare say Be Banh Mi makes the best banh mi in the US, too.

To start off things, let’s talk about the size. You could get regular, stick, or a giant version called the challenger. The regular size is my go to, and it’s already huge compared to the others in ATL, California, Texas, and Chicago. The bread is layered with egg butter, pickle, cucumber, scallions, and sauce. Then, you choose the fillings. I always go for the classic (đặc biệt) and the grilled pork, but the glazed chicken is great, too. The seasoning for each type of bread is perfection. I especially love the pork floss in the classic banh mi, no other places in America has it.

But then again, after trying so many banh mi’s all over the US, it makes me appreciate Be Banh Mi much more. The other places either use small breads, skip the butter/sauce, or skimp on the meat/fillings. They always make me miss Be Banh Mi so much.

At a price point of $6, Be Banh Mi is a great value because the serving is huge. Service is friendly, and on busy days (when everyone literally buys 5-6 banh mi’s to go) there might be a wait. But it’s...

There aren't many places that are just this classically good in the Duluth area. Banh Mis are on every single corner, but this is the OG original and amazing flavor that you expect. The restaurant itself is a new-age and contemporary place without many frills in the dining area. You have the option of ordering on a kiosk or ordering in person, which is nice since this place seems to get packed rapidly in the mornings. And when I say "packed," I mean packed. You can walk in 30 seconds after opening time and be the 50th order in line, but the line moves FAST. I recommend the fried egg banh mi. It's a classic, it's perfectly overeasy and pairs beautifully with the butter and crunchy bread. I can't ignore how delicious the grilled pork is as well because it's a classic pork flavor without being demolished with lemongrass. I wasn't there long enough to try the menu, but in 4 days, I ate about 11 sandwiches in total. On my last day leaving Georgia, I timed departure with the ability to grab 4 sandwiches to go.
