Food is good. Service is excellent. This is not a complaint. I just want to share my experience when I lost my iPhone. My wife and I left Canton house restaurant in Duluth around 220pm last Saturday. We went to Gainesville for a meeting . On the way there, I wanted to call my friend and realized that l left the iPhone at canton house. So my wife called the canton house to see if my cell phone was there. The receptionist couldn't find it so she asked for Peter, the manager there. After talking with Peter, he said he would check on the camera and call back . Later on his receptionist called back and let us know they couldn't locate my phone. I canceled a meeting and turned around to Canton house to see Peter to check on the camera but he wasn't at the restaurant. We went to Verizon nearby to buy the new phone. After purchasing new iPhones the salesperson couldn't transfer database because I didn't have my old phone. We went back to Canton house looking for Peter . He checked on his camera and went back to the table where we were sitting to look for my iPhone. We were hanging around the reception area , suddenly the server came with my iPhone and said he found it on the parking lot next to his car. We said thanks and went back to the Verizon to see the salesperson to help me download the database to my new phone. It took a longtime to download so we left the Verizon with both phones still downloading. Here is my opinion for whoever lost the phone or found someone phone. When I lost the phone I was panic bc all contacts , important information , schedules and images ... saved in the phone with both my credit cards, drivers license and insurance inside the iPhone case. On the way back to Canton house in the car, my wife was trying to locate the phone but it was offline so she had to freeze both of my credit cards . We lost the whole Sunday afternoon running around trying to figure out how to find the iPhone with all information that I need for my work daily. And I'm still learning and download all apps and information to my new iPhone . I'm old man so learning how to get used and download information is not easy like young people . For phone founders: When you find the lost cell, please don't turnoff the iPhone so the owner can locate the phone. Give the cellphone to the counter or any business nearby with your name and phone # for owners to comeback pick it up. We were on vacation with friends in Cancun few months ago. I were sitting on the chair by the swimming pool while all my friends in the pool. The cellphone on the next chair kept ringing , so I think it's an important call , so I answered for my friends while they're in the pool. It turned out the couple and hotel staff were looking for the lost phone around the pool. So when I answered the phone they asked me where I was sitting. They found their phone and everyone including hotel staff were very happy and cheering. So please don't turn off the cell whenever you find it so owner can locate it
Conclusion: The cell phone is not that important but you think data and information on your phone are important then you should save them on icloud because you can't find these information if you lost your phone. If you're cellphone finder, please think about people who lost their phones how panic they feel and also cost them time and money, so do the...
Read moreBecause of the quality and standard in the original Canton House, I had high hopes for this new location.
Unfortunately, the food served here is nothing like the original. First, the menu is incredibly small and only has a fraction of the offerings from the original Canton House.
Secondly, and most importantly, the food is horrible. It’s greasy, but somehow still so bland. The rice they served was obviously leftover rice that had been in the fridge for several days - it had lost some of its colour, it was hard, and it was also cold in the middle indicating that it had been heated up straight from the fridge. And not for long enough. Because it was still cold.
Upon asking for a new bowl of rice, the waitress told me it was freshly cooked. Keep in mind, she was saying this to a table of 10 Chinese people, all of whom have eaten rice and leftover rice for their entire lives.
This brings me to my last issue, which is the staff. The waitress doubled down on her lie after bringing us a new bowl of rice, saying that the chef didn’t use enough water.
Idk about you but a chef in a Chinese restaurant that can’t cook rice - not a great look.
When asking for a refill of tea, we forgot what tea we had in the pot. The waitress responded by opening the lid, stuffing the pot opening less than an inch from her face, and took a huge audible sniff to try determine the tea.
It’s not the grossest thing someone could have done, but again - not a good look to be doing in front of all your customers.
It took forever for the food to come out, and it also came out in no real understandable order, with orders of fried rice and other such base dishes being served last, meaning most dishes had to be eaten without rice.
Oh yeah. The fried rice was also hard, meaning it was the same batch of leftover rice. So that was great. At...
Read moreI understand this is a soft opening but there is a lot of work and improvements that need to be done if they want a successful grand opening. Service and management need A LOT more work. You got people running all over the place. There was no teamwork and coordination, tonight I witnessed a logistic headache. They need to quadruple the staff at every position from server to kitchen to management. I wouldn’t waste money and time coming here for now. You’re better off eating dim sum at Royal china or East pearl. Awful...
