Five Below — Local services in Duluth

I typically enjoy shopping at Five Below, as the experience is usually quick and pleasant. However, I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with an incident that occurred during my visit on August 9.

While my daughter and I were completing our checkout, an employee reached between us to retrieve a receipt for another customer. We had already completed our transaction and were simply collecting our change. Rather than waiting until we had finished and stepped aside, the employee reached between us in a manner that felt intrusive and inconsiderate.

When I addressed the issue, the employee responded with an inappropriate remark as we were leaving. I found this behavior to be highly unprofessional and lacking in basic customer service etiquette.

I believe this interaction reflects poorly on the training and standards expected of Five Below employees. He should be very grateful My child was present; it wouldn’t have ended well on his behalf.I hope appropriate steps are taken to ensure all team members understand the importance of respectful and courteous behavior...

This was my 1st time in this store and it was just ok. It is smaller then I expected and the store was somewhat cluttered. It was difficult to get around with a cart. The carts near the front door were either broken or wheels were locked, not sure. I finally found one that would roll. The carts are made weird with the bottom shelf sticking out farther than the top so when you are turning into an isle it appears that you have enough room to navigate but you end up running into the items on the bottom shelf-and because the isles are narrow it's just really hard to navigate around the store especially if it's crowded. There were also quite a few carts that had tall poles attached to the side handle and that complicated the navigation even more. I took the one off that was attached to my cart and it was much easier to get around without it. The items were nothing special although I did find a few things. There were a lot of toys and family's with little kids-so I'm sure it's good for that kind of stuff. Not having small children in my life at this time, I'm not sure that I...

Love the selection of misc merchandise at great prices. The staff - not so friendly. One of the staff used the self checkout to check customers out. Went to her when she said next. Just starred at me with no prompt of if I should be checking myself out or her. I asked what I should do. She flatly said “put it up here”. I assumed the carry basket - as that it what I would have done to checkout myself in previous visits. I was wrong as she continued to stare at me before finally saying take the stuff out of the basket. Guess it was too much work for her. I think there is some room for her to be more unpleasant but not much. 😆. Other staff just kept to themselves - none made any attempt to communicate with...
