Me and my partner went here today and this place did not disappoint. The taste of the dimsum, wonton soup, and then finding the nice surprise that they have HK raisin bread was so nostalgic and reminded me of the taste of the Alhambra local spots that I missed so much. Everything tasted really fresh and the wonton fillings were plentiful. The only thing I wish was on the menu is the turnip cake but I could eat the shrimp rice rolls and the wonton soup any day ! Probably the best wonton soup I’ve had in GA thus far.
There is a counter where you can order and pay card or cash but, if you’re new to dimsum or (abc like me lol) need photo references, there is a huge touchscreen where you can pretty much order everything this place has to offer and pay card or digital payment.
Definitely recommend saving room for the pastries or taking some home. We picked out a good variety to try and they had many versions of the polo bao to try. I did try their osmanthus milk tea (reg ice, 50% sugar) and it was pretty good. Next time I’ll come try the lychee shrimp balls and the durian slush (love durian 💛) . Overall, it’s not the typical dimsum cart experience but everything is fresh, at a great price, and great quality ! (feel like the items tasted better than the more popular dimsum place around here in Duluth ifykyk)
We’ll be returning here...
Read moreI was excited to learn that hong kong bakery is doing well since the take over. They are going to reopen their doraville location. In the mean time they have dimsum along with the bread selections at their pleasant hill location.
I walked in and immediately someone bought out all the mini polo buns, when I asked the cashier if there was anymore, she said no, but the entire conversation felt like I was put on pause while she spoke to other employees or customers behind me.
I ordered the beef rice roll, siu mai, and curry fish balls along with a ready made ham sui gok and hk lemon tea. I was excited to have some nostalgic options! The beef rice roll was only 3 pieces for $7 and the beef was so soft it was almost like it wasn't there. The siu mai was thicker in consistency than other places which at least shows it was house made and not commercial. The curry fish balls were pretty spot on along with the hk lemon tea.
While waiting for my food to slowly come out, a man I assume is an owner brought me some hot sauce and utensils which was very kind as those items are self serve. The atmosphere is so nice and bright, I love their aprons! It's not super air conditioned.
Overall great, but there are just a few things that need...
Read moreGreat food, I got fried gyoza, Dimsum -mini pork buns & steamed beef omasum- and a brown sugar boba tea.
The gyoza and dimsum dishes were wonderful! Not a long wait time (normal for the time it takes to cook, ~10-20 minutes depending on the dish. I visited after 10 pm, since it’s open late and I wanted dimsum, and it was great.
They have bakery items present, ready to grab and purchase, so no wait for those. They looked wonderful! But I was on a dimsum mission.
They have a lot more dimsum dishes I would try (if I had more people with to me) and...
